Wisconsin Insurance Commissioner Sean Dilweg recently announced improvements to the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance’s on-line consumer complaint system. Now Spanish-speaking consumers will be able to complete and file a complaint over the internet entirely in Spanish.
Since February 2009, OCI has been offering on-line complaint filing for consumers. More than 900 complaints have been filed via OCI’s on-line access point. With the addition of a Spanish language online complaint form, OCI has been able to remove one more barrier for consumers who are challenged by English forms.
Currently, several OCI publications are available in the Spanish section of the Web site. These include Consumer’s Guide to Insurance, Brief Guide to Renter’s Insurance, Consumer’s Guide to Homeowner’s Insurance, and Consumer’s Guide to Auto Insurance.
OCI’s expanding services can be found by clicking the “En Español” link on OCI’s home page at http://oci.wi.gov. OCI has Spanish-speaking staff available to assist consumers. As always, Spanish-speaking consumers are welcome to call the OCI complaint line (800-236-8517 or 608-266-0103 locally) with any concerns.
