this is why I read everything that is prescribed to me. I mean, all birth control pills come in similar formats. I just find it hard to believe that a clinic would mess up birth control and pre-natal vitamins.

Really, I’ve taken birth control & pre-natal vitamins in the past and I would not have confused the two.

You would have thought pills that looked like Fred Flintstone would have been a dead give-a-away.

You have to feel for the younger son and what is coming. Older brothers generally pick on the younger and make their lives Hell. What would have once been kidding will be tragic when the older tells the younger “Mom and Dad didn’t want you so much they sued the doctor when you were born”. How does Mom respond to that?

I’m with Original Bob here; the birth control pills I’ve seen are tiny and come in a very distinctive dispenser. The pre-natal vitamins I’ve seen would choke a horse. Something is fishy here.

Agreed! I’m no rocket scientist, but I think I would know the difference between birth control pills, which are the size of a tic-tac, and come in a “bubble-wrapped” packet so you can only dispense one pill a day, and prenatal vitamins, which are the size of a boiled egg!!!

Exactly, birtch control pills are pre-packaged. I don’t know any prescription birth control pills that come in an “open” container. I don’t understand how you would confuse the two.

Besides if you know you are done having kids, why would you go on the pill? Why wouldn’t you have your tubes tied or have your partner have a vasectomy? Not that this would be an argument in court….just think it’s worth noting because birth control is not 100% effective.

Also, they can’t prove that she wouldn’t have gotten pregnant anyway, as birth control pills aren’t 100%. The Army’s BC (“birth control”) glasses aren’t either.

Unfortunately, pharmacists are not held to the same standard as doctors. A local pharmacy gave my father another patient’s heart medication instead of the proper urology medicine. He went into heart failure 6 days later and ultimately died within 18 months from COPD and other disorders that he did not have prior to receiving the wrong medicine. We would have had to pay, out of our pocket, for 2 professionals to appear in court. Due to his age the lawyer said no one cared. It didn’t matter that he was healthy enough to work in construction weeks before taking the medicine. My word of advice to everyone is ask your pharmacy if there is anyone with the same name in their database. You need to be diligent!
