What the heck is this article trying to say?

“While those costs do not specifically track with the premiums insurers charge individual customers, it is expected that these increases in costs will also translate to significant premium increases for many Ohioans, the department said.” -WTF???

“Based on the proposals submitted to the department, the average to cover those costs in 2014 is $420 representing an increase of 88 percent when compared to the Society of Actuaries study.” -Very unscientific way to determine true increases.

What about the people that currently pay $223 whose carrier may not participate in the exchange? Will their rates be affected?

Please, IJ, try to be a little more responsible in your reporting!

I can’t afford insurance now, and won’t be able to afford it in 2014 unless a miraculous HUGE pay raise comes and we all know under Obama many salaries in the private sector have decreased while government employees enjoy guaranteed raises. We are becoming more communist than Russia is currently. We now work about half the year for the government and yet our taxes our still going up. Now, my wife and I have to pay the tax penalty too starting in 2014. This is not the United States of America we once knew and loved. So sad.

If things are that rough, maybe you’ll qualify for a subsidy in 2014. Things must be pretty bad if you can’t afford healthcare working in the insurance industry.

It is difficult to defend the monstrosity that this bill has become and the negative effects it is having on universities, private businesses, etc.

I think it will turn out to be another Y2K. Much ado and fear about nothing. The sky is not falling, it is not “disasterous” and it may actually work.
