What a bully, Scruff Face! She “chose to come into this case” as much as she chose to lose her husband. With a comment like that, is Ventura really not after the hapless, suffering widow? He can only go after Kyle for the lie to clear his name, but since Kyle isn’t here to defend his position, Ventura ought to drop his self-righteous “complete control” tactic.
“Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura contends he isn’t going after the widow of slain ‘American Sniper’ author Chris Kyle by continuing his defamation lawsuit, but rather the publisher’s insurance company.”
Then drop the suit, Jesse. The insurance company didn’t defame you.
Everyone knows that Mr. Rogers was the deadliest sniper in US history. That’s why he wore sweaters all the time. He had each one of his confirmed kills tattooed on his arms.
Not saying that she should/shouldn’t have been brought into the suit, but I’m confused as to why the insurance wouldn’t cover the costs and damages. Just about every policy I’ve ever seen has wording covering the estate, executors, and legal representatives of an insured in the event of the insured’s death. As long as the insured would have been covered while alive, the policy would respond. And if they were already involved, they wouldn’t think they’d be able to pull out of the lawsuit just because he died.
Then again, I’m in Med Mal. Maybe it’s different for other coverages?

I think he’s saying there could be allegations that are not covered (intent, punitive damages, etc.)
