How was she conscientious if she visited family, friends, and a public retail outlet? I guess that since the CDC did not tell her she could not, then she is conscientious. Apparently the standard for that justification is a little low.

Add the quarantine to the Carnival Cruise ship for the health worker that handled blood of the Liberian guy. I agree Crain that she wasn’t too conscientious if she went to stores shopping for a wedding. I wonder what the groom is now thinking about his fiancé. Should he be quarantined as well?

      Deadly, contagious disease without cure.
Healthcare professionals that know they were exposed to deadly disease.
Let’s all hold hands and fly commercial airlines and cruise ships.

If you have no symptoms, you are not contagious. The general public is being whipped into an unnecessary frenzy.

      Huh –
I think the media are playing it up as a distraction from the many other things that Obama etal don’t particularly want to talk about, like Obamacare, ISIS, Benghazi, a Marine in jail in Mexico, etc, etc, etc.

wvagt, I hear what you’re saying, and as much as I believe the liberal media does like spin/misguide to their bias, I really don’t believe this is that sinister.

These news folks have increased their desire to be “johnny on the spot” to get ratings and whatever awards they think it will get them.

They spent over an hour the other night on the local Dallas new with “breaking” news. The whole time they were just sitting there with ther camera pointed to the plane repeating the same diatribe they’ve had for the last week.

I agree on a lot of what you are saying InsGuy. The media can wear you out sometime on almost anything. However, the broadcast networks literally cover almost nothing. When the dufus Frieden was testifying yesterday in Congress, ABC was airing “The Chew”, CBS and NBC both had soap operas on.

That’s their job, Agent. If people want to see Frieden testify, they know where to find it. Some people just want to watch The Chew.

The networks haven’t ever altered programming for testimony in Congress. Why would you expect them to start now?

Networks are going to broadcast the shows that get them the most viewers. Watching Congress do anything (or nothing as the case may be) is not going to attract viewers. That’s what CSPAN is for.

The CDC says that this is not contagious unless you have symptoms. A. She had symptoms, a fever. B. That method of transmission is what they know assuming that this virus has not mutated. Viruses mutate rapidly to adapt. Extra caution is not ridiculous. The media is ridiculous. I know the difference.

Crain – she didn’t have a low-grade fever until the return flight. She should have checked herself into a hospital in Ohio immediately.

I agree Crain, here is a scary thought….you take off your shoes at the airport right? You stand on the same mat barefooted that everyone else has stood on right? People’s feet sweat right? It is said that Ebola is spread by bodily fluids, i.e. sweat right? God helps find a vaccine quick.

draetish, those wonderful TSA people may be getting a bit nervous by now. How about a good pat down of passengers from Liberia for a start after taking their temperature? Do we buy TSA space suits to do their job, then spray them down after every flight that comes in? Have that CDC van standing by in case of an emergency quarantine.

Yes Agent and thank God I’m in insurance. Did you hear about Obama’s Ebola Czar, Dr. Nicole Lurie? She has been MIA since all this started? If not, you will.

I thought the Ebola “Czar” was some political type lawyer.

Just as an aside, I hate the whole Czar title. I’m probably the only one, but I just don’t get the whole need for a “Czar.”

“The ‘drug czar’ title was first published in a 1982 news story by United Press International which reported that “Senators… voted 62–34 to establish a ‘drug czar’ who would have overall responsibility for U.S. drug policy.”

That happened to be during the tenure of your hero, Ronald Reagan.

No Libby, it’s not just Republicans, just the ones that don’t believe everything our Govt tells us. We think for ourselves! Try it sometimes instead of being a stubborn democrat.

I DO think for myself. That’s why I do not vote the party ticket and was a registered Independent for 20 years. I don’t believe everything the government tells us, I do independent research. And the facts about Ebola are exactly as I have said. If I am wrong, please point it out to me as I am always on a quest for knowledge.
