Nationwide Private Client, Burns & Wilcox Donate $50K to Detroit Charities

Property/casualty insurance organizations Nationwide Private Client and Burns & Wilcox together have donated nearly $50,000 to Detroit-area charitable organizations. Living Arts and City Year Detroit each received a $24,684 Partners in Giving donation to help fund youth arts programs and to help students and schools succeed.

Living Arts engages more than 3,000 Detroit youth annually in visual and performing arts classes at its southwest Detroit studio and in artist residencies for preschool to eighth grade classrooms across the city.

Private Client is Nationwide’s personal lines carrier focused on the affluent market. Its appointed independent agents are offered an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others with charitable donations in their local communities through the Partners in Giving program.

Nationwide Private Client and Burns & Wilcox each matched contributions made by Michigan-based Burns & Wilcox employees on top of the initial $30,000 donation by Nationwide Private Client. As a result, the partners raised nearly $20,000 more for the local Detroit non-profits.

To date, $141,456 has been donated in Arizona, California, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, and Washington through the Private Client Partners in Giving program. Nationwide Private Client has committed an additional $385,000 in Partners in Giving charitable donations for distribution throughout 2015 and 2016.
