Claims Injury Sciences LLC announced an agreement to integrate its flagship product, WrExpert(tm) accident and injury analysis software, with Vetronix Corporation Crash Data Retrieval System, which allows crash data to be downloaded from a vehicle’s airbag sensing and diagnostic module, or “black box.”
Using this data and information typically found in an auto insurance claim file, a comprehensive, scientific analysis of auto insurance claims can be performed. By virtue of its proprietary decoding algorithms, the CDR System interprets relevant portions of the information, and is able to capture and report information such as vehicle speed, engine RPM, throttle and braking data from a number of vehicles.
For some airbag modules, impact severity and seatbelt usage can also be reported. WrExpert is a PC-based system that evaluates certain accident characteristics, including the severity of specific auto collisions, by analyzing damage repair estimate information and damage profiles of vehicles involved in a collision. In addition, the system assesses the potential for specific injuries for those accidents identified as minor collisions.
A fully illustrated reference library providing information about accident events, human anatomy, injury causes and treatments for specific injuries is provided. San Antonio, Tex.-based Injury Sciences, develops forensic technologies based on the conduct and accumulation of research related to accident and injury events. Vetronix Corp. is a privately held supplier of products to the worldwide automotive service industry and is headquartered in Santa Barbara, Calif.
