InsureHiTech, an eBusiness property/casualty insurance portal designed for mid-sized technology clients, and Royal & SunAlliance USA received the ACORD XML Implementation Champions Award for Property & Casualty at the ACORD Technology Conference.
The award honored InsureHiTech and Royal & SunAlliance USA for their co-development of a Web-based interface that uses ACORD XML (Extensible Markup Language) standards to link insurance carriers, brokers and clients. The XML technology allows previously incompatible software systems to exchange information quickly and efficiently via the Web, thus reducing costs, creating large-scale efficiencies and eliminating the need for redundant data entry. Sengen, InsureHiTech’s technology partner, also assisted on the system design.
In addition, ACORD recognized IVANS Inc. as an XML Implementation Champion at the conference.
IVANS received the Implementation Champion award for Transformation Xpress (TM), software that translates between the most commonly used data interchange formats used by the insurance industry, including ACORD XML and AL3 as well as ASC X12, EDIFACT, and proprietary XML and flat files. ACORD certified that IVANS Transformation Xpress had successfully translated live Homeowners policy data from AL3, the standard used for most agency interference EDI, into ACORD standard compliant XML. Transformation Xpress XML output was validated against the ACORD DTD, and was checked for the absence of empty tags, validity of coded values, and validity of data formats.
