Insurance portal ebix.com Inc. has signed an agreement that will allow the Iroquois Group’s network of independent agents to adopt the industry’s first true Internet-based agency management system providing “anytime, anywhere” functionality. Through this agreement the Iroquois Group, with a network spanning 26 states, will promote ebixASP to its 1,200 members.
Launched two months ago, ebixASP has gained traction with agencies across the U.S. because of its functionality and cost. ebix.com has developed the only agency management system to date that is WAP-enabled (Wireless Application Protocol) and provides agents with anytime, anywhere access to their information, including via handheld and other wireless devices.
Under the terms of the agreement, ebix.com will create a customized version of ebixASP specifically for Iroquois’ members and will train the Group’s staff on how to effectively use and maintain it. The ASP-based system, which ebix.com will host, will be available initially to Iroquois Group members in the Mid-Atlantic region, followed shortly by all other regions.
Even though ebix.com will host the system, The Iroquois Group and its members will continue to maintain complete ownership of their data.
