IIABA Notes Dates for Sept. New Orleans Infoxchange

May 6, 2002

Just four months remain until the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America’s (IIABA) New Orleans InfoXchange, which will be held Sept. 21-24 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside and the nearby Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

The IIABA showcase event will feature workshops, guest speakers, high-level networking opportunities, a record-size exhibit hall and the Young Agents Leadership Conference.

Most New Orleans InfoXchange events will take place at the city’s Morial Convention Center. The center will host the largest exhibit hall in IIABA history, as well as the opening and closing general sessions. The opening-night party on Sept. 21 will take place in the exhibit hall.

The New Orleans InfoXchange will get rolling Sept. 22 with the opening general session with a company CEO panel featuring several top industry leaders, IIABA President Thomas B. Ahart’s president’s report, and a leading business expert offering success secrets to the anticipated 2,500 attendees. An exclusive reception for Trusted ChoiceSM agencies with company CEOs will follow. Also that day will be a wide range of workshop offerings to teach attendees new risk-management tactics, buying and selling strategies, methods to fight commercial insurance crime, details on the HO2000 forms, and how to market to “Generation X.”

The next day—Sept. 23—will feature extended hours for the exhibit hall and the InfoXchange closing event at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. Among those events will be a full slate of workshops designed to show agents new technology tips, sales pointers, how to write marine insurance and the dark side of claims.

Sept. 24 will mark the installation of W. Cloyce Anders and Louise C. Canter, CPCU, ARM, as IIABA president and president-elect, respectively. The inauguration ceremony will take place during the closing general session that also will feature a discussion of politics and the coming congressional elections moderated by IIABA CEO Robert A. Rusbuldt.

Concurrent with the New Orleans InfoXchange will be the 27th Annual Young Agents Leadership Conference.

This conference will run two and a half days—Sept. 20-22—and weave a number of educational, team-building and networking events for Young Agent attendees.
