Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Kemper Insurance Company made several recent appointments. John Mahoney was named president of KEMPES, a unit that underwrites specialty program business. Mahoney joined KEMPES in 1999 to lead the start-up of a new P&C division in Denver that will focus on the development of property and casualty programs tailored to the specific needs of targeted customer groups. Mahoney has more than 14 years of industry experience, with the majority of those years focused on commercial specialty program business.
Dan Beaudette was named vice president of the Denver P&C division. Beaudette joined KEMPES in 1999 as a program director with more than 10 years of program management experience. He currently manages KEMPES’ largest program and played a pivotal role in developing most programs in the Denver division.
Denise McRae was named vice president of legal and staff operations. McRae joined KEMPES in 2000 as senior legal counsel with nearly 15 years of insurance experience. Her responsibilities will include oversight of numerous staff functions at KEMPES, including legal, human resources, staff underwriting, regulatory compliance and operations.
