Converium Reinsurance (North America) Inc., the New York-based unit of Swiss reinsurer Converium Group, announced several new appointments and changes to its organization.
Paul Braithwaite, chief actuary and chief inderwriting officer for the unit’s accident and health business, is now chief underwriter for both workers’ compensation and Converium’s non-traditional reinsurance unit. He has been with the company since 1993.
Gary Prestia, senior vice president and chief underwriting officer for property, ocean marine, and agribusiness, now has overall underwriting responsibility for general liability, casualty clash, auto, and Canadian businesses. Prestia joined Converium in 1998.
Senior Vice President Matthew Fay, chief underwriting officer for treaty and facultative professional risks, will also oversee excess and surplus lines, along with surety and umbrella business.
Finally, Brian Kensil, CFO for the North American unit, will assume the role of president of its Converium Insurance (North America) Inc. insurance subsidiary. Kensil has been with Converium since 1990.
