Continuing its expansion of state advocacy, the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) has named Joe Thesing, formerly with the Ohio School Boards Association, to the position of State Advocate.
Thesing will work on collaborations with state insurance trade associations in pursuit of member company strategic objectives before state legislatures and departments of insurance. He is assigned 10 states, mostly west of the Mississippi.
Thesing is responsible for the states of California, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
He comes to NAMIC from the Ohio School Boards Association where he has served as deputy director of legislative networks. Thesing has also worked in the United States Department of Justice and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
