Barbara Miller-Richards has been promoted to vice president of agency development by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA).
An 11-year veteran of the IIABA staff, Miller-Richards oversees the work of the National Young Agents Committee and InVEST.
Miller-Richards also guides IIABA’s Diversity Task Force—a cooperative industry group comprising IIABA agents and brokers, several leading insurance companies, and members of organizations representing Latin American, African-American, and Asian-American agents.
“Barbara has worked diligently to build several important programs into valuable resources for IIABA and the entire insurance industry,” said IIABA executive vice president and General Counsel Debra Perkins. “She is steadfastly committed to positioning young agents and multicultural agents to shape the future independent agency system, and to encouraging young people to participate in InVEST and begin promising careers in the insurance industry.”
