Commercial and industrial property insurer FM Global has issued a bulletin noting that the company has jumped to No. 549 on FORTUNE magazine’s list of America’s 1,000 largest companies.
The higher ranking moved FM Global up 148 spots (the eighth largest jump in rank), and was “due to a 49-percent increase in revenue since 2002.” It also noted that “the ranking, based on fiscal year 2003 financial statements, is published in the magazine’s April 5, 2004 edition. FM Global debuted on FORTUNE’s list at No. 697 in 2003.”
“As a policyholder-owned mutual insurance company, this ranking would not have been possible without knowledgeable and proactive clients who truly believe in our philosophy that the majority of all loss is preventable and who are financially and philosophically committed to reducing their exposure to risk,” commented chairman and CEO Shivan S. Subramaniam. “We are pleased to be ranked among many of the world’s most respected companies.”
