W. R. Berkley Forms Entertainment/Sports Division
W. R. Berkley Corporation announced that its Berkley Specialty Underwriting Managers LLC has formed a new division that will offer insurance products for the entertainment and sports industries.
Berkley has named Cindy Broschart, 46, as president of the new division, which will be headquartered in Dallas, Texas. She most recently served as a senior vice president in charge of Gulf Insurance Group's entertainment and sports division, and has over 27 years of insurance industry experience.
Michael Harris, 43, has been named vice president of the division. He most recently served as a senior vice president with Gulf Insurance Group's sports division and has 22 years of insurance industry experience.
In making the announcement, Chairman and CEO William R. Berkley commented: "This is another opportunity for us to expand our offering of niche products. We continue to search for the right people to provide expertise in segments of our industry, which offer more knowledge driven opportunities. We are very pleased to have both Cindy Broschart and Michael Harris as part of our organization and are confident in their abilities to build a successful business."
