The Leavitt Group announced that Natchez, Miss.-based Stephens & Hobdy Insurance Agency has joined the Leavitt Group, an organization of more than 80 independent insurance agencies located across the United States.
Stephens & Hobdy Insurance has been doing business in Natchez since the early 1920′s. The Darling Insurance Agency became Stephens Insurance Agency in 1920 after V. J. Stephens purchased the company in 1946. Hobdy & Company was founded in 1940 as Henderson Agency and later changed names when Braxton Hobdy became the sole owner in 1987. Jack Stephens and Braxton Hobdy merged their agencies in 1998 forming Stephens & Hobdy Insurance.
Jack Stephens and Braxton Hobdy, co-owners of the Natchez agency, said they look forward to the additional markets and product offerings provided through membership in the Leavitt Group.
“As an independent insurance agency, our size is important to the insurance companies we work with,” Hobdy said. “As members of the Leavitt Group, we can leverage the volume of other member agencies to bring very competitive products to our Natchez clients.”
“When Braxton Hobdy and I joined forces in 1998, we wanted to become the premier insurance agency in Natchez and better meet client needs,” Stephens said. “That is still our goal and why we’ve joined the Leavitt Group.”
Stephens & Hobdy Insurance provides all types of personal and business insurance to area residents and businesses, including property/casualty, business packages, life and health insurance.
