Marshall & Swift / Boeckh (MS/B), a worldwide provider of residential and commercial cost data, technology and services for the property insurance industry, has announced the appointment of James Thornton as chief operating officer. Thornton is responsible for managing all MS/B operations.
Prior to joining MS/B, Thornton was a senior executive officer of LandAmerica Tax and Flood Services and its predecessor company, LERETA. Thornton has 15 years of experience in operational and sales management. Thornton, who will be located at MS/B’s Los Angeles office, is a graduate of the University of LaVerne with a master’s in business administration. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and received his designation while working for Coopers and Lybrand.
