John J. Amore, chief executive officer general insurance of Zurich Financial Services Group, has been named the new chairman of the board of directors of the American Insurance Association.
Michael S. McGavick, president and chief executive officer of Safeco Corporation, has been elected AIA chairman-elect. AIA’s two new vice chairmen are Gregory E. Murphy, chairman, president and CEO of the Selective Insurance Group, and John D. Finnegan, president and chief executive officer of The Chubb Corporation. In addition, outgoing AIA Chairman Jay Fishman will remain on the AIA Executive Committee as immediate past chairman; Fishman is president and chief executive officer of The St. Paul Travelers Companies.
