I am really pleased to see that ABD has stepped up to the plate to address an issue that has challenged urban agents, as well as, community economic development groups and managers/owners of affordable housing.
The problem has gotten so bad in California, that legislation was crafted to address the issue (AB421 – Steinberg).
The bill eventually failed, however, it did raise awareness of the issue (market access)and the socio-economic impact. Market discrimination in affordable housing can be an impediment to local economic development.
ABD should be commended for having the courage to tackle this issue. We wish them the best of luck in this endeavor.
