July 6, 2005
Farmers Insurance Group received the top honor and Allstate Insurance Company received nine Best of Show awards at the Insurance Marketing Communications Association (IMCA) 2005 Showcase Awards, held during the IMCA annual meeting last month.
Farmers Insurance received the SAMMY Award for its entry, "Unbearable" in the Television Advertising category. The SAMMY is given for the overall Best of Show and is voted on by the attending IMCA members. Farmers added one additional Best of Show and three Awards of Excellence for other entries. "A total of nearly 100 Best of Show and Awards of Excellence were presented this year to over 30 different companies," said Ron Rice, IMCA President. "We had a record 350 entries, and we're proud to recognize the best marketing communication efforts in the insurance industry."
Allstate led all companies, receiving nine Best of Show honors, while other top winners were The Hartford with six Best of Show awards and Liberty Mutual with four.
Additional Best of Show recipients included MetLife Auto and Home, State Farm (Life), SAFECO, Swiss Re, CSAA, The Co-Operators, A.M. Best, EMC Insurance, Nationwide, Trilix Marketing, Insurance Journal and Risk and Insurance.
