Fireman’s Fund Chooses Bussman as Chief Information Officer

Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company has named Oliver Bussman as its chief information officer, according to Charles (Chuck) Kavitsky, chief executive officer.

Bussman has many years of IT leadership experience in the banking, insurance and asset management industries. He will lead the implementation and delivery of the IT investment Fireman’s Fund has made to improve its customer and employee experience and to its operational effectiveness.

Most recently, Bussman served with Allianz Group, of which Fireman’s Fund is a wholly owned subsidiary. He comes from Allianz Germany where he was executive vice president, group information technology, responsible for global IT strategy, infrastructure, business applications, standardization and IT purchasing. He also led several IT efficiency initiatives for the Allianz Group.

Bussman joined Allianz in 2000 as managing director of IT for RCM Global Investors and Allianz Global Investors, based in San Francisco. Prior to joining Allianz, he served in IT roles for Deutsche Bank AG and the retail banking division of IBM.
