Travelers personal lines, a member of St. Paul Travelers, has announced it now offers its 10 percent discount on auto insurance for hybrid drivers in Alabama, Mississippi, Nevada, Kansas, Tennessee and South Carolina.
Travelers launched its discount for hybrid owners on Feb. 21 and is one of the first auto insurance company to begin doing so nationally. The discount is also available in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Wisconsin.
In addition to the insurance discount, hybrid drivers can benefit from the federal tax credit for alternative energy vehicles ranging from $250 to $3,400, depending on the model. Additional tax benefits are also available in many states.
