The Hanover Insurance Group Inc. has developed a new unit of marine specialists designed to assist agents placing small volumes of inland marine business. The Marine Underwriting Advantage Team will offer agent partners of The Hanover with access to highly-specialized marine underwriters on business that may be overlooked by another carrier, the company says.
“Our goal is to offer all of our winning agent partners access to a total account solution for their commercial lines customers,” said Sophia Phillips, vice president of Inland and Ocean Marine and Marine Niche Program.
For commercial lines agents who place large volumes of marine business with the company and marine specialty agents, The Hanover also offers dedicated marine underwriters who deliver customized solutions for sophisticated risks.
