West Chester, Pa.-based Venture Insurance Programs has introduced a proprietary guaranteed cost program with Travelers National Programs to provide specialty casualty covers to the military housing industry.
Venture, which offers insurance solutions for property managers of privatized military housing installations, will add workers’ compensation, general liability and auto liability covers through Travelers National Programs.
Travelers National Programs is the dedicated program underwriting unit of the Travelers Indemnity Co. The Travelers Indemnity Co. and its property casualty affiliates are rated A+ (Excellent) by A.M. Best.
“This proprietary program with Travelers is available on either a first-dollar basis or with a low deductible, and is fully commissionable,” said Philip J. Harvey, president of Venture Insurance Programs.
Venture’s military housing program is offered exclusively through licensed insurance brokers and is available in all states. The program also features tenant liability and tenant personal property insurance through other carriers.
Military housing insurance has its origins in the 1996 National Defense Authorization Act, which created the Privatization of Military Housing. Under the act, private sector developers may own, operate, maintain, improve and be responsible for military housing. Currently there are 84 military housing installations representing more than 170,000 housing units. Venture writes more than 35 percent of this market.
