Atlanta-based Proudfoot Consulting named Dan R. Carmichael, former CEO of Ohio Casualty Corp., as senior advisor to the firm.
Carmichael will help clients within Proudfoot’s insurance practice improve their operating performance.
Carmichael joined Ohio Casualty Corp. as president and CEO in December, 2000. He assembled the Executive Management Team, assisted in the recruitment of a new, independent slate of directors and led the group to develop and execute a strategic plan to restore the corporation’s financial strength and performance. In 2007, Liberty Mutual acquired Ohio Casualty for $2.7 billion. Carmichael remained through the transition as a senior advisor.
The recipient of a Bachelor’s degree from Florida State University, Carmichael also holds a Master’s degree in theology from Emory University and attended Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business Executive Program. He achieved the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1981
