NAS Offers Regulatory Business Shutdown Coverage

NAS Insurance Services introduced a new regulatory business shutdown expense insurance that provides businesses with extra expense protection if they are shutdown by a regulatory agency such as a health or police department.

The coverage, which is available nationwide, includes terrorism, communicable disease, contagion, infestation, fungus, and others. The insurance covers up to $50,000 per day per location $1 million aggregate. The insurance also includes a sub-limit for contesting the regulatory shutdown. The minimum premium is $500.

    What a sham. Beware the trigger / wording Very few business outages are ever triggered by order of a regulatory body such as police or health departments.
