UPS Brand Exec Bloomenkranz to Head Progressive Insurance Marketing

The Progressive Corp. has named Larry Bloomenkranz as chief marketing officer effective April 28, 2008.

Bloomenkranz joins Progressive from United Parcel Service (UPS), the package delivery service, where he has been since 1989 when he joined as international advertising manager. At UPS, he went on to become director of International Brand Communications before assuming the position of vice president of Brand Management, Advertising and Sponsorships. In that role, he was responsible for global brand strategy, identity and advertising, as well as enterprise-wide sponsorships and events.

Bloomenkranz was instrumental in the development of the current UPS brand strategy and identity.
