Boston-based AIR Worldwide Corp. reports that Dennis Fasking and Jin Zhang have joined its expanding Consulting and Client Services Group to meet growing client demand for catastrophe risk consulting services.
Fasking and Zhang will be key members of a team that assists companies seeking to incorporate catastrophe risk management best practices within activities such as enterprise risk management, capital and risk transfer, underwriting and pricing enhancements, and risk mitigation strategies among others.
Fasking has been involved in the insurance industry in a variety of capacities for 38 years, working for State Farm Mutual Insurance Co., Allstate Insurance Co., and Sentry Insurance. He has also been an AIR client for many years and is a longtime Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Before joining AIR, Zhang worked as an associate actuary at Travelers Insurance. His responsibilities included commercial property pricing, catastrophe and reinsurance strategy management, and predictive modeling. Earlier, he was an actuarial consultant at Oliver Wyman, where he was responsible for reserve estimation and loss forecasting, financial modeling and services to regulators and departments of insurance. Zhang has also worked as a research engineer on transportation engineering related statistical analysis and optimization algorithm development in Singapore.
