Newport, Calif.-based Alliant Insurance Services, one of the nation’s largest specialty insurance brokerage firms, has announced an organizational change that the company says will strengthen its leadership team while maintaining Alliant’s commitment to a flat management structure.
Effective immediately, Ralph Hurst now directs the company’s retail operations as president, National Brokerage Group, while Sean McConlogue, president, Alliant Specialty Insurance Services, directs all non-retail operations, such as co-brokerage strategies and third-party administration. Both will directly report to the company’s Chairman and CEO Tom Corbett.
Hurst, who is based in Alliant’s Newport Beach, Calif., office, joined the company more than 20 years ago and has extensive operational expertise with joint purchasing programs, having overseen the development of both the Public Entity Property Insurance Program (PEPIP) and the California State Association of Counties-Excess Insurance Authority (CSAC-EIA) program.
In addition to assuming responsibility for all non-retail revenue operations, McConlogue, a 20-year industry veteran, will continue as president of Tribal First, the firm’s exclusive insurance program for tribal nations. He is based in Alliant’s Kearny Mesa, Calif., office.
Other key members of the Alliant executive management team are Greg Zimmer, president and chief financial officer, and Jerry Hall, executive vice president and chief operating officer.
