Steven D. Carroll, Robert Jarratt and Michael H. Lee have been elected as the newest members of the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America’s (PCI) Board of Governors.
Carroll, serves as executive vice president and general manager, North Carolina Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company. He began his career with NCFB as a farm underwriter and has held positions of commercial lines underwriting supervisor, personal lines underwriting manager, and assistant general manager and senior executive of administrative services, personnel and underwriting prior to being named to his current position in June 2005.
Carroll has served on the Beach and Fair Plan Board of Directors since 1994, including a two-year term as chairman. He has also served as the chairman of the Property Committee of the North Carolina Rate Bureau and currently serves as chairman of the Insurance Federation of North Carolina Inc.
Jarratt is executive vice president and CEO of Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company. He began his career in 1969 as an accountant, Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company. He served as accounting manager and vice president, operations for South Carolina Farm Bureau; vice president, operations for Florida Farm Bureau. In 1986 he became executive vice president and CEO for Florida Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company and served as executive vice president and CEO for Mississippi Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company prior to his current position.
He also served as chair of the Florida Insurance Guaranty Association Board and Florida Windstorm Underwriting Association Board.
Lee is chairman of the board of directors, president and CEO at Tower Group Inc. Before founding the company’s first insurance subsidiary, Tower Insurance Company of New York, in 1990, Lee was an attorney in private practice specializing in advising entrepreneurs on the acquisition, sale and formation of businesses in various industries.
Lee has worked in the insurance industry for more than 19 years with experience in insurance, finance, underwriting, sales and marketing, claims management and administration and law. Lee also served as chairman, president and CEO of CastlePoint Holdings Ltd. from its formation in 2006.
