    IS Anyone really surprised?
Sure it was a disaster – as was Katrina, but many feel “entitled” to take advantage of the situation. The experience with and how people took advantage was a trial run for the BP disaster…it was like a training exercise for screwing someone. The unfortunate thing is I am sure there were people who were really hurt financially who did not a full measure of reimbursement…while others – with no ethics or morals – simply too advantage of the situation….and in this article it appears the polictical leadership set the tone for this.

Pretty common to see the looters come out after a disaster. Generally we are only shown those on the lowest end of the economic scale carrying out TVs – it is good that the lights are being turned on the white collar rats who typically get the largest chunk of the loot.

BP is getting the last laugh. Have you seen the pump prices lately? Thanks alot government officials for once again, bending over the people that vote for you. But you get the last of the last laugh because you’ll get voted back in at the next election. America will never learn.

The people that did not use the monies for clean up, ought to be asshamed of themselves. It just goe’s to show that their greed was more important than human and animal life. B.P. screwed up and I don’t feel they should be given any leniency for their errors but this is beyond my comprehension of the good in humanity.

I guess they feel that if politicions can take dirty money, they can to.

BP is basically uninsured. So this spending spree is not going to hit underwriters and as we all know, even if they had insurance , no insurer is going to pick up those kind of expenses. However, what surprises me is the lack of audit of these expenses by BP. You would think shareholders would have something to say about this spending spree unrealted to the loss. Perhaps BP wants to promote goodwill by throwing their money around.Who knows.

Raider Fan: Politicians have no shame. You should have learned this by now, if not before November 2008 then at least since then.

Seems pretty simple. Now that the audit is done, each organization in question now must stand and deliver on why it was needed. If they cannot validate it, then the items are confiscated and people are charged with fraud (embezzelment). People must be held accountable.

We keep talking about charging these people from Banks, Wall Street, etc. and nothing happens. It is time the American people rise up and contact their representives daily and not stop until change occurs. I have been doing this for two years now but I am just one voice. I keep praying that the message will be heard and change will occur. I will not let these crooks and liars get me down.

Is anyone surprised that government workers anywhere will spend as much money as they can get their hands on? Seriously. To suggest that they would limit consumption and waste from this particular trough is naive at best.

It’s just that the normal trough is taxpayers. Here it’s BP shareholders. Nobody spends other people’s money as carefully as they spend their own.

And we wonder why S&P downgraded U.S. debt outlook ?
