The reasons for this are very simple: people are underinsured or in some cases uninsured, NFIP encourages people to build in the wrong areas, and FEMA has no money.

Solution: the government gets out of the insurance business and people pay for their insurance. I am sorry for the losses of life, but if people had the correct levels of insurance then there wouldn’t be a need for federal disaster declarations.

The government is not a bank.

People complain that insurance companies make too much money.
I think this is a fine example showing the integrity of insurance companies. We have record claime and I haven’t heard of any insurance companies that owe their soul to China.
