Zurich Expands Agribusiness Footprint

January 9, 2012

Zurich has reached an agreement with Aran Insurance Services Group to provide package, umbrella and auto coverage for agribusiness operations through MiniCo Insurance Agency.

The international carrier will provide coverage through Aran’s MiniCo Agri Insurance subsidiary for operations including commercial agriculture, farms and ranches. Specialty enhancements for equine operations, dairies and vineyards will also be available in some states beginning this month. Additional states will be added through 2012.

“We see the agreement with Aran and MiniCo as a great opportunity for us to expand our presence within the agribusiness industry,” said David Banks, executive vice president, Zurich Alternative Programs in North America.

MiniCo’s Jim Henry, chief underwriting officer, and Kevin DeMoss, vice president of product development, will be responsible for the program’s management. Both are agribusiness specialists. Don Sedlacek, vice president, will oversee the agribusiness claims.

MiniCo has been a program administrator for 37 years and has a seasoned agribusiness team. The Phoenix-based agency is a subsidiary of Aran Insurance Services Group, which is based in Rockville Centre, N.Y.
