Frankly, lipstick studies just don’t ring as important enough to spend taxpayer money on. Pay the debt off before you think about studies that noone really cares about.

Great now we have women who are lead poisoned. Article seems to ignore this serious and lethal exposure.

The Cosmetic industry is so huge–I would like to see the reason why lead is in it to begin with. I’m sure they use the childrens toys rule of thumb but Those toys don’t have long last wear or 18-24 hour coverage–Kids nap.

This sounds like a worthless reason for the gov’t to spend more money.

This is ridiculous! Lipstick has been worn since before the Ancient Egyptians (not that lead was used then). But, come on, “L’Oreal’s “Color Sensational” Pink Petal had the most lead of any lipstick tested at 7.19 parts per million”. What a waste of time and money…….

I thought the article would reveal that the lipstick is made in China. Everything else we buy from them has lead in it.

I’m surprised it’s legal to sell to minors and that buying your teenage duaghter lip stick isn’t child endangerment.

    On a Related Note:

The makers of Bert’s Beez confirmed that tubes of their lip balm with code numbers 9042-5672-Oct14 have been identified as including wax products emanating from African bees.

Apparently colonies of domestic bees in Maryland and Virginia had been invaded in 2010 by the more aggressive apiary inhabitants as they made their way northbound from an original outbreak in Mexico. As typical, they interbred with the domesticated hives and generated combs with a distinct and peculiar product.

A spokesman for the family-run company, Roger “Buzz” Aldrin, stated that the wax they received from the subcontracted harvesters was golden in color, reducing the need for additives. “We knew the product was superior in many ways to what we were previously receiving. What we couldn’t figure out was why so many of our regular customers were showing signs of aggressive bee-havior (sic)”.

“Thankfully, we knew that the contractors had a Workers Comp program written on B+ paper, so the claims from harvesters didn’t sting our own Mod Rate”.

Upon identifying the particular batch run, the company withdrew the product from shelves across the Northeast. No similar problems have occurred since.
