It’s a place where a handshake means a lot, and your word is your bond. There’s a certain roll-your-sleeves-up mentality.

Now, is this their first forecast? Or the second or third, or fourth, fifth, sixth…. revised forecast?
How many times have these guys been right in the last 5 years?
And the answer is (Drum Roll) – None. These guys get paid the big bucks for putting out predictions. We should sign up for a grant and pretend to be experts and get paid for it. Last year, I believe they said 12 named storms with 8 making landfall. Oops! Egg all over their face. Our local meteorologist can’t get the weather right for the next few days. He predicts rain which doesn’t fall and then predicts partly sunny skies and it rains like crazy.
I let my cats, Grayling and Velcro, play with a set of dice to predict the number of named hurricanes this season. The cats, in turn, knocked the dice off of the table and onto the floor. They predicted the same numbers as NOAA. Cats are clueless about most things but they got the sames results as NOAA and all my cats ask for is 9 Lives and catnip from time to time.Gosh, NOAA seems to be clueless too and very expensive compared to my cats.
