Continuing Resolution after continuing resolution just like they do on the budget which has been non existent for 3 years. These politicians refuse to fix this problem so I think we will dismiss them in November.
I had a bet running with another agent in my office that just cost me 50 cents. Didn’t actually think our government would manage to get off their collective posteriors to get an extension passed in time.
Their position is to never let a good crisis go to waste. It is always a crisis going down to the 11th hour before anything gets done. Short term fixes are not a good thing. What are agents going to do? We never know whether we can write Flood due to the time issue with it.
90% of elected officials have no idea how the financial or insurance industries even work. The flood program is yet another shining example of how incompetent the federal government is. The flood program is over $5 billion in the hole. Lets review the list of failed efforts: Postal Service, Social Security, Medicare, AmTrak, National Flood Insurance Program, Department of Education, EPA etc. Hey! Somebody name a program that works and is not broke!
Elected officials are primarily lawyers and have no clue how business works and have made a fortune suing business before they were elected. The government is totally corrupt with special interests and left wing zealots in charge. Let’s not leave out the Energy Dept, Interior, Transportation, GSA, Commerce, and all their sub agencies on the list of wasteful, corrupt branches of the Executive Branch. We now have in addition to them a shadow government run by 40+ Czars who give all these Departments & Agencies their marching orders and we are being ruled by Executive Order. Not a happy prospect and they need to be dismissed in Nov.
Wouldn’t need Czars if Congress would get to work & cooperate to get bills passed that work.
Caffiend, That is not going to happen with the current make up of Congress. We need all new leadership starting with Harry Reid who should have been dismissed a long time ago. The House has sent numerous bills to help the economy, lower taxes etc and he pronounced them all DOA and will not permit debate or vote on any of them. Basically, he is protecting the President who would veto anything that would fix the economy or in this case, Flood Insurance. How long do we have to wait for them to act? I say probably until November when we can start with a new cast starting at the top.
Only thing I can say is, “I’m glad Noah never had the problems with his flood policy that America seems to have with her’s!”
Noah didn’t have any need for coverage since he was building an Ark and God told him he would protect him and his family. Our government can’t tell us from month to month whether the program will continue to be funded.
