Since the study found that “..underground injection of waste water from drilling offers more risks for seismic activity..”, this is a misleading title. More of that there liberal media.
“The fracking drilling technique used to tap shale oil and gas is unlikely to trigger earthquakes, but underground injection of waste water from drilling offers more risks for seismic activity”
Can you do the drilling WITHOUT the underground injection of waste water? If not, then what is the point of separating the risks from the two activities?
Ms. Direction alive and well :-)
Who cares about earthquakes.
Its the containment that fracking leaves behind in the water that is the issue. Fracking is exempt from reporting and following the Clean Water Drinking Act thanks to Vader Cheney. Watch Gasland (movie).
When I read articles like this, my mind can’t help but wander to the topic of “clean” energy and when we’ll truly become dedicated to exploring wind and solar.
And for the record, my comment is not meant to hint toward any political affiliation. Just attempting to have an objective discussion about energy sources.
Drill, drill, drill. The free market will determine if other alternative energies can win out.
When we’re talking about something with so many factors (sustainability, effect on the environment, etc.), it’s not as black and white as “supply and demand.” I’m not claiming to know the answer, but in this digital age with our increasing energy demands, we need alternative systems in place and ready to go so we don’t have some kind of energy crisis down the road.
Good plan. Also, for the benefit of a strong population, stab, stab, stab. The survival of the fittest will determine who carries on mankind.
