Sounds to me like they are trying to Compete with Progressive Snapshot program
BIG BROTHER IS HERE…………
I am interested in it being able to analyze driving habits and suggest more fuel efficient ways to drive and operate my vehicle but it seems somewhat invasive to constantly monitor driving behavior to fluctuate insurance costs.
I don’t like the fact that many carriers are going this direction. Nobody thought credit scoring would ever amount to much with insurance companies, and now you cannot write a policy without it. Soon you won’t be able to buy insurance without something like this. Little by Little Big Brother is winding his way into every aspect of our lives. I DON’T LIKE IT, AND I DON’T SELL IT. If someone is interested I will give them the option but I seldom bring it up. Not a Fan!
I did Progressive’s Snapshot program and truthfully felt jipped. I get made fun of for how I drive (meaning slow and careful) and I only qualified for a 1% discount. I drive defensively, but was apparently punished for it. I actually think these programs are a better option than credit scoring as THIS directly relates to my car insurance. And I know some of you feel this is a little “Big Brother,” but what is so private about my driving skills? It’s not like they put a microchip in your body. Get over yourselves.
why is Insurance journal allowing this article to run without the truth, that, Reduce Risk, means increase Premiums. And offere discounts AND CHARGE HIGHER rates for those drivers this computer device deems poor.
