      $4.8 Billion in the till and $50 Billion in claims. Perhaps they can get the funds from Medicare. Oops, $716 Billion already taken by Obamacare. The Fed will just have to print up some more funny money to pay this loss.

    Some apples to oranges, simpleton comments here. Failure to rebuilt on a timely basis puts drag on the economy. At least there is enough insurance capacity to handle insured losses.

      There may be enough capacity to handle losses covered by insurance, but FEMA is in a big hole on their end. Obama is now calling for an emergency funding bill for $50 Billion for FEMA to pay on Sandy losses due to rising waters. I wonder how many of these folks even had Flood Insurance. It probably doesn’t matter and they will get the money anyway, much like New Orleans in Katrina. Christie and Cuomo know how to play the system.
