i work for an insurance company and can tell you our IT guys say it “will be a miracle” if the exchanges are ready by the time enrollment starts in October.

Further rates are going to go up 30%, 40%, or more on young healthy individuals.

It will be interesting to see what happens when millions of people will suddenly realize they have to BUY coverage, that it is not automatic, nor free. What a shock that will be to so many who think Obamacare is free coverage for the masses.
This is going to be an absolute mess.

TxLady, How are the people that don’t have insurance now going to be able to pay for obama care? Will we still be paying for their health care in some form like we do now? I’m asking a legitimate question. I understand that we’ll be paying more but not sure how all the people that are sucking the system dry now are going to be able to afford coverge.

Hey Perplexed, it is called “subsidized” coverage. If they can’t afford it, we, the taxpayers will pay it for them with subsidies from HHS. This is kind of like food stamps, housing, welfare, disability with Social Security, free cell phones, etc ad nauseum. This is what their voters voted for. Unfortunately for us, it will bankrupt the country. For those who still work and have to get coverage, it is estimated that insuring a family of 5 will easily cost $20,000 each year by 2015 and that is for one of those sorry Medicaid like policies. By the way, there is already a doctor shortage in this country. Put 20 million more on the rolls and see how the line grows to see a doctor. Most appointments will be handled by PA’s and Nurse Practitioners. I am sure the care will be wonderful.

Hey TxLady, The libtards are already in sticker shock on the 2% more taken out of their check for Social Security. They thought this President would never raise their taxes. They are in for more shocks the further we get down the road. I saw a story that all the major retailers are singing the blues because sales were terrible last month. It seems that people were spending that money shopping and all of a sudden, it isn’t there anymore. Gas prices have spiked everywhere. Isn’t it amazing that they held off until after the election and prices have risen $.50 in the past month? I guess we need more of that switchgrass gasoline Obama is so high on to bring the price down.

Employers are dropping coverage or changing their plans because of the affordability issue. There is nothing affordable about the Affordable Care Act despite people like Planet saying it is.

FFA, Yes he said it and no it will not be more affordable. I don’t know of any government entitlement which has ever been on budget or not losing money to the point that it is an impediment to the economy? For example:

    * Post office- NO, it is broke to the tune of 16 Billion dollars. So, what does the administration do? Cuts out Saturday service which will save 2 Billion- Wow, we are now only 14 billion in the hole.If they cut out the rest of the week (saving 2 billion per day) we would still be in the hole by 2 billion.

*Social Security- NO, the Democrats amended the agreement so that they could rob from the trust and use it for pork or whatever they needed, like put money into Medicaid for illegal alien emergency aid. So, it is underfunded and guys and gals who have paid into it for 40 years are going to get screwed when it comes time to collect. How? They are going to means test Social Security and that means if you have any other income that can be used for retirement they will deduct it (by formula) and reduce your benefit amount. That will happen until, because of your other income, you will not be eligible for any benefit. They will give it to a former illegal alien who just got the express road to amnesty, worked for a year and can collect social security. You get screwed

    * Medicare- NO, cost to seniors keeps going up and the care is no better if not worse for seniors. In fact, Obummer pulled $715 billion out of Medicare to pay for Obummercare.

    * Medicaid- NO, what a joke.

And on and on and on

Hey Sargent, good to see you back on the blog again. I have had some computer issues and replies haven’t come through. By the way, the President thinks he needs golf lessons now so he is flying Butch Harmon to Florida to teach him. Counting all the costs of AF1, Secret Service, reserving The Floridian Golf Club and whatever Harmon charges him, this will be the most expensive golf lesson in history. Why should we be surprised? This will be like Hank Haney trying to teach Charles Barkley how to play. After 6 weeks, Barkley still couldn’t hit it a lick.

Can you enlighten us? I know the reason but I think it would behoove you to look it up. $715 B wasn’t pulled to pay for the PPACA. You can go ahead and fact check yourself on that one, too. Patti Cake. Did you see the hour long program on Hannity with Dr. Ben Carson (Gifted Hands)? He is one of the few that make sense unlike the politicians in office currently. Being a world reknown neurosurgeon means he has plenty of smarts. I like the HSA concept he is promoting. Makes a whole lot more sense than the 2,700 page monstrocity that is causing so much trouble. It was a delight to see him at the Prayer Breakfast politely hand the President his head on every major issue. We need someone like him in office to speak the truth.

What exactly did Jesus say about abortion? Oh, that’s right…nothing. President Obama doesn’t want to see children murdered. He just wants women to have a choice. I, like President Obama, am not anti-choice. Most conservatives I know say they are “pro-life”. Yet, when I ask them about the death penalty or caring for someone in need (like, for example, an “illegal” who needs medical care or will eventually die), it’s evident nothing could be further from being “pro-life”.

I don’t throw Jesus’ name around, I believe in Him. The real Jesus, Jesus Christ. Not the supply-side Jesus I know many on The Right to believe in:

Not all republicans are pro death penalty, nice labeling again.

But more to the point: Did you really just compare killing a murderer, to killing a child?

You don’t have to be ok with a murderer being allowed to live in order to be ok with a child being allowed to live.

If you’re a Christian, you would do well to look at revelations. Though I am an agnostic, it specifically says at the time of the end of the world, father would kill the son, all across the world, and that everyone would be ok with it. The only possibility there, is abortion.

I don’t believe in that hogwash, but if you’re going to be a Christian, deal with your issues with Christianity.

I should also note, that if you believe in God, by default, as soon as that baby has combined to become a child, that was God, not you, as he/she is the only thing that can create life. At which point, it is not your choice to end what he/she started. It’s logic. I know you hate how religious people can be so “illogical” but right now, you’re being a part of that. The extreme conservatives are far more logical than you. It’s a baby now, no wait, it’s not. It was made by God! No wait, it’s the mother’s choice! If God wanted it to be the mother’s choice, why let a girl who wasn’t ready even get pregnant to begin with Planet?

You lable on the left so much it’s insane.

Agnostic speaking here. Moderate speaking here. Already have pointed out how in every way. Fix your Bias!

The right does not believe in letting people die regarding illegals.

They just realize, unlike you, that if you have an illegal who doesn’t pay taxes, they are taking that medical treatment from someone else in the end who needs it.

Nothing is free. That’s not meant to say that “we will give nothing!”. No. It take money to do things in this world. We have to make that work for the people. And having illegals take it, without putting in, takes it from someone else. You said you are ok with forcing people to buy insurance so that people don’t take without contributing. Sounds to me like you agree with the basic mentality that people on the right do. You’re just too blind to see it.

Oh and: Republicans give both more money, and more time, to people in need. This includes illegal immigrants. This means they give more than you and care more than you.

Sargent didn’t say $715 Billion was pulled from the Post Office to pay for PPACA. It was pulled from Medicare to pay for Obummercare and that is a fact. The Post Office is a different matter. They are wildly inefficient and are beholden to – you guessed it, the Government Unions who have quite a sweetheart deal. Despite numerous postal rate increases, they keep running up record deficits. It is kind of like AMTRAK or any other government run entity. Keep on pouring money down the drain on anything the government controls and you have a sure fire plan to bankrupt America.

          A) Post Office – look up the reason why they are hurting. Pro-tip – you may want to see how far in advance they are required to fund their workers’ retirement. Oh, and then look at which party was responsible for originating and passing this bill.
          B) $715 B not pulled from Medicare to subisidize PPACA. It comes from eliminating inefficiencies in Medicare program. No one’s benefits are being affected. It’s a good talking lie, there I go again. I mean, talking point, though.

Oh, and it was actually Obama’s 65,899,660 to Romney’s 60,929,152 in the popular vote, but thanks for misinforming us all. If you do that math, it turns out Romney was a 47%er after all. If you think President Obama is a socialist, I’ll sell you any bridge in the world. Heck, I’ll sell you every bridge in the world as a package deal.

            4-tunate to have 4 more!

            Captain:

            Another point:

            Obama does take socialist actions.

He taxes with the intent of “leveling the playing field” as he worded it.

He taxes oil companies more because as he said it “they have made enough profit” and then charges the green energy a tax rate half that. You know, because how much PROFIT you make should determine your tax rate?

            That’s socialist Captain.

Regulating profit through taxing, regulating income brackets through taxing, is socialist. It’s side stepping the normal socialist tactics that don’t work, to basically dishonestly put in place a class war.

So I guess you owe Patti Cake any bridge in the world.

Go big Patti Cake. Go for the Golden Gate.

            Captain:

“About a third of the cuts come from reduced reimbursements to hospitals. About a third comes from reducing overpayments to insurance companies for Medicare Advantage plans, which are private competitors to standard Medicare. The remaining third comes from cuts in reimbursements to various other healthcare providers. More details here”

“over payments” to insurance, meaning he takes away the money we provide for people to buy their own insurance, assuming they don’t want to be stuck with a government product. Very lovely action right Planet? Maybe to you, not to the people who can’t buy medicare advantage.

Reduced reimbursements to hospitals: They aren’t cutting the benefits, true, but they are paying the hospitals less. If the hospital has less money for a procedure to buy tools like let’s just say that 3d MRI image scanner, then they will not have the money to do the treatment. The cutting of reimbursments will lead to less care.

Cutting of reimbursements to other providers: Providers do one thing Planet: Provide. Less money, less provisions.

They basically played accounting on your ass. They didn’t cut benefits, they just made sure they give less to the people who give you your “benefits” and services. It will result in worse care.

You’re just too much of a nitwit to get that. They are faking left and you fall for it…Sad.

        HR 6407, cosponsors:

        Danny Davis (D)
        Henry Waxman (D)
        John McHugh (R)

Democrats take the lead as to who sponsored the bill.

The senate and congress make up was too close to state the democrats were the minority. Senate: 45 – 55 Congress: 225 – 207, an even more narrow lead there.

Regardless, this was passed by unanimous verbal vote in 2006, passed two days after it was introduced, showing huge bi partisan support. This would include Hillary, Barck Obama, Ted Kennedy, etc. More importantly: The whole congress would have to have been owned for this vote to have been intended to crush the postal service, and ALL current democrats would have fallen for it assuming that is the case and republicans were trying to be jerks. At which point: DEMOCRATS ARE TOO STUPID TO LEAD.

Every time they vote for something, some idiot like you says they were tricked, no wait oops, that wasn’t their intent, no wait oops, no, uhm, they love the middle class! Rising house costs are GOOD!

Seriously Planet. The only one misinformed is you. Idiot.

So are you back on the “Bush fooled them!” run?

Hi Agent, During his golfing vacation at Martha’s Vineyard – President Obama had been slicing off the tee on every hole.

He asked his Scottish caddy if he had noticed any obvious reasons for his poor tee shots, to which the caddy replied:

“Aye, there’s a piece of shyt on the end of yer driver. ”

The President picked up his driver and cleaned the club face, at which point the caddy said:

    “No, the other end.”

Gee, I wonder why the liberal bloggers on this site didn’t like your comment Sargent. I saw where the President enlisted Tiger Woods to play with him for this round. It is too bad Butch Harmon couldn’t teach him how to hit it to the right. He seems to be stuck to hitting it left all the time. Kind of goes with his politics I guess. No amount of lessons will ever get him to competency on the golf course. Meanwhile, the bill is given to the tax payer as usual.

I would almost bet that the President hasn’t been to Camp David once per year since he has been in office. When he is there, he is shooting hoops, not skeet shooting. He said he shoots all the time. Just last week, he shot a 92. He probably shot an even 100 playing with Tiger in Florida.

Bob, Obama has played more in one year than Bush did in 8 years. In fact, he hardly played at all in his last term, very occasional with his Dad in Maine. I kind of liked Ike’s approach. He played 800 times in 8 years. He figured that government keeping their hands off the economy and trying to micro manage everything was just the ticket so he stayed out of the way except for important decisions. I grew up in that era and the country and economy was great. We had prosperity and liberty to achieve our dreams back then. Gradually over time, the Progressives have eaten away at it and now we are getting closer to a dictatorship similar to Chavez in Venezuela.

Kid, you sound like a jock cheering snot. 4 tunate for more? You talk like an idiot, and seem to enjoy it. I am not a bully for telling you that you’re wrong, or that you’re an idiot, any more than you are for saying that us republicans are shaking our fists at the youngin’s, keeping women in the kitchen, and are all following the god Sean Hannity.

I’m an agnostic you dumb as hell moron.

And you’re part of the religious fanatic left, which you try to label as being the right.

Label, label, label, but ya can’t be right.

But thanks for trying out! ;)

You don’t stand a chance in this argument, and I’m the only one here reminding everyone you’re just a pompous ass, running around labeling the entire republican voter.

      I’m not pro death penalty.

      WHOOPS!

I’m an agnostic, OOPS swing and a miss!

Republicans regarding health care: You’re dead wrong on the stance. They talked about covering pre existing conditions. They talked about lowering costs. They would have done it without forcing the middle class to buy insurance.

I would love to hear how you call force a good thing, whether it’s results are good or bad. Force in a government, something you claim republicans do, and you can’t list the damn example?

List them Planet! And don’t throw out the patriot act. I’ve looked at the patriot act. You have to be a terrorist to be under the patriot act, which as much as you liberals say isn’t defined it’s clearly defined.

So list what us repulicans have done to control the middle class? Tax cuts? Please. Regulated the banks into making a housing bubble, which Obama is now creating a second one? As he said, his goal is to raise housing costs, and our incomes are not following. This will create another bubble. Are you stupid and believe that it won’t? Housing costs need to bottom out for the middle class you nitwit.

How are the republicans controlling the middle class? Freedom and free market is NOT a method of control, idiot.

As we have seen from the past few years, his posts have been from another planet and range from goofy to uninformed to sarcastic to downright Progressive Socialist. If I were his boss and knew what his leanings were, I would bring a cardboard box to his cubicle and tell him to pack up. I wouldn’t even mind paying him unemployment to get him out of there. He is not part of our business world, that is for sure.

He actually insulted you telling you that you didn’t know what you were talking about, and didn’t layout the bill he claims destroyed the postal service.

Interesting to note he got that idea from the most liberal sources out there.

I don’t like the guy. Yes, I speak strongly, but it’s up front about someone. That guy Planet speaks so out of line, and then tries to make jokes about the people. He actually makes fun of them, says they don’t know what they are talking about, and then has the nerve to say he’s this nice guy. I don’t like him at all, and I make a point of showing he has no idea what he’s talking about.

Not to be forthcoming: But I have provided more methodology and multiple sources to info on this site than anyone. And I’ve provided more break outs of how religion works in the real world, and government. It really agitates me to witness a follower, trying to get other independent thinkers like you to follow, and insults you or me, or people who are against Obama right now.

I would vote democrat if the democrat was a good one. This is about acknowledging when someone has to go, not getting attached at the hip and walking the line. He talks about breaking norms, while making norms.

I wonder what happened to his joined at the hip mate, Libby since she hasn’t posted in some months. I wonder if her employer laid her off.

As far as voting for a Democrat, I haven’t seen one in many years that would be worthy of my vote. The Democratic Party -Party of Truman was hijacked some years ago and they are now the Progressive Socialist Party and just haven’t changed their name yet.

      By housing costs:

Look up QE: It’s goal? To increase lending, and to make sure housing prices don’t drop.

Why is it a good thing to make sure that the middle class cannot buy a cheap house?

Why is it a good thing to try and CONTROL housing costs?

Why is it a good thing to try and CONTROL which businesses start and which fail? You may like green energy, I like green energy, but trying to make business decisions as a government? We shouldn’t be giving that power. At all. You claim the republicans do it, name a circumstance. Did they appoint a Goldman Sach’s member to make financial reform? NO. Did they give out loans to their buds? NO. Did they say they would tax oil more than green energy, just because? NO. Did they say that certain businesses should be treated differently by the government? NO.

This is CRONYISM, you moron. And you can’t list a single area where the repulicans are doing the same.

Sargent, one of my partners is a champion skeet shooter. He said the picture looked photo shopped and the technique Obama was using was all wrong. Maybe the Secret Service put a can on a post 10 feet away to see if he could hit it with a shotgun. It certainly wasn’t skeet shooting if he was shooting at all.
