Also handy is the encryption software that you can use now to protect your data. Doesn’t help a hacker that’s accessed your network if he cannot read the data in it.

We are thankful that we have AMS 360 which is an off site online protection of our critical agency customer info. They have firewalls and geeks galore to protect our info. Before, our info was in our server and any good geek could have probably hacked it and stolen info. That was a concern for a long time, but we feel better about it now. Not to say it couldn’t ever happen, but they would have to be very good to do it.

Interesting post.It is challenging for companies switching to the cloud to get it right. The various benefits such as cost savings and ubiquity should not come at a loss of security.Read this whitepaper “Cloud risks: Striking a balance between savings and security” read an interesting piece on cloud  risks, and if the cloud is the right solution for your business @  http://bit.ly/ZFPu1l

Should this include ‘6. Business Interruption’ in respect of the insured’s own loss of profit in respect of network interruption and/or downtime?

I suppose a manuscript form could be designed to offer Business Interruption due to network downtime due to a hacker. The classic Business Interruption form requires a loss from an insured peril to trigger a Business Interruption claim. I think it would be a pretty big mess to deal with if it happened.
