    Surprise, surprise!
Now let’s see, let’s go back a few years….insurance carriers (my `Partners’) are `helping me out’ by automating. We can do more with fewer people? So,now….we do all of the input, so that THEY can have pretend underwriters say `yes or no’. They E-MAIL us policies (so the paper can be bought and printed closer to the customer!). And so on, and so on….

Moving forward there will be some population of business customers who buy direct just as auto is being bought direct, but the majority of business owners will value the services agents-independant as well as captive, provide their insureds.
At then end of the day, we do have to respond to what our consumer wants and how they buy is a big part of that value proposition.

Price may be a factor for buying online for now. But once the business owners will experience the lack of service, they will probably be more tempted to revert to the advice of an agent.
