Yep, I.B. Serious. Apparently the crew in SF for Asiana thought the machine would land itself. And there’s been enough discussion about the Colgan flight to Buffalo on which a neighbor died that the pilots were not paying attention. More people text in their cars while driving and put other people at risk than experienced pilots. Hopefully the investigation will show they were fully attentive and the incident was outside their control.
There’s an old joke (believe me this is NOT a laughing matter but dark humor has its benefits) that if cars had black boxes, the last statement made by most male drivers would be “Now watch this…”
Let’s hope the black boxes show that neither of the pilots were texting. Watch for a rash of new proposed legislation.
