“There is no doubt that this unreasonable request for burdensome paperwork is exclusively motivated to harass community organizations that stand ready to help uninsured families gain health coverage under the Affordable Care Act,” he said in an e-mail.

Making sure the right people are doing the job is unreasonable and a burden??? Making sure the fraud is kept to a minimum??

This entire law is “unreasonable” and “burdensome” on everyone.

FFA, Apparently, the unions are “decrying” the bill they were pushing for two years. The latest are the Longshoreman’s Union, 40,000 strong, who don’t seem to like the Cadillac tax and have disassociated themselves from the AFL-CIO. Tell me please how we can have so many waivers for big business, unions, Congress and still have a viable law. The ones left holding the bag are small business and Individuals and the hope of enough young people to sign up to offset the hordes of PreX people who are champing at the bit to get coverage.

Burdonsome on everyone? Really? How many people did you ask before you came to that conclusion? No more pre-existing condition exclusion, young people staying on their parents health plans until age 26, insurance companies can’t drop you when you get sick, major improvements in women’s healthcare services…oh the horror! 30 million uninsured people have a realistic avenue toward health care coverage. I feel sorry for those so burdened.

And who pays for all these improvements in coverage? I know that liberals have no concept of basic economics, it shows through in all their economic plans. Who pays are the young healthy people who are reluctant to pay the unfair premiums to help subsidize others. The young healthy people who are currently being co-opted to buy this coverage by the left’s propaganda. The young healthy people who will be stuck paying the bill for this budget busting deficit expanding program. Elementary basic economics that the left has no clue of.

And economic illiterates such as yourself are totally clueless as to how both of those systems are bankrupting the country. The solution of the economically illiterate left is to set up more bankrupt programs. And all efforts to reform those programs to make them solvent again are shot down by the economically illiterate left, such as yourself.

Social Security has been taking in about $100 billion a year more than it pays out. If nothing is done, that annual surplus will gradually shift to a deficit as the country ages, but Social Security currently has $2.6 trillion in assets, enough to cover their projected obligations for decades.

Just who is the economic illiterate here?

D, the tax increase will hit everyone. Unions are speaking out against it. Politicians exempted them selves from it. Don’t know if you’ve gone through the courses yet, but the ones I have been through have just been more confusing and creates more questions then it answers.

The questions people will want answered on 10/1/2013 still cant be answered.

What is the Coverage? What is the Price? What is the subsidy?

If you have the answers, please advise where you got them and if they have changed since you got that hammered out. If we in the biz cant answer them, how is a politician supposed to answer them? I consider that a burden.

Oil price controls came to pass in the form of the gas price crises some decades ago. Did you miss that because you’re too young and too naive to look into our history?

Perhaps I should move to the higher interest rates as a result of Carter’s presidency. Then Regan got them down significantly by getting the government out of the way.

The misery rate would be a true doom and gloom, there’s a reason the country shifted right post Reagan, and a reason for the 1995 republican revolution.

The right have good ideals when they are actually put into practice.

            Speaking of doom and gloom:

These are not exact quotes, but were used to pass programs

“If we don’t pass the stimulus unemployment will surpass 10%”

“If we don’t pass the sequester people will lose their jobs and the economy will tank”

“If Paul Ryan gets into office we will lose medicare (insert a video OF PAUL RYAN PUSHING A GRANNY OFF A CLIFF, which is ABSOLUTELY INAPPROPRIATE and doom and gloom)”

Ya know, I could go on all day. Quit with the comments about the right. You have not one clue on political matters.

            Libby:

Provide sources that people on a wide scale basis do not get cancer treatment who are poor.

Are the poor immune to cancer?

Because our mortality rates for cancer are roughly equal to single payer system country rates.

Do the math on what that means. It means the only possibility is that our poor are getting treatment for cancer at at least equal rates. Cancer is top three for causes of death. This means the poor must be getting it, and must be receiving treatment for it if our survival rates are equal. There is absolutely no possibility that having cancer and being poor is a death sentence, or we would have millions, and millions, and millions, of deaths from it.

Do the math on your own and forget about sources for a moment. Here is the appropriate math:

Look up survival rates of cancer and occurrence rates on a per country basis.

            Compare.

Look up the mortality rates of cancer in those who get cancer.

            Compare with the above comparison.

If the numbers of survivability and occurrence are equal in two countries, and the poverty rates are somewhat equal, and the occurrence rates are 30% roughly, with a poverty rate of let’s say 10%, then the numbers would be:

            US Population: 325,000,000

            10%: 32,500,000

            1/3rd of 32,500,000 = 9,750,000

If people who were poor were not getting treated 9,750,000 people would be dying at an absolute minimum more than a single payer country. As we have equal survivability rates, this means those 9,750,000 million are mostly all surviving, with the exceptions being a minimal percentage and very unlikely to do with not having insurance especially as those living at poverty level are not likely to have insurance. You may also feel free to look up those numbers and apply them.

Keep in mind I put a hypothetical up there.

You should be thinking like this and doing this math rather than asking for sources with their idiotic opinions on the matter.

It is common sense that you are wrong on this aspect.

Bob: The uninsured are 1.6 times more likely to die in five years than those with private insurance according to the study: Insured Cancer Patients Do Better The Washington Post, December 20, 2007.

Uninsured breast cancer patients at a large safety-net hospital system were more likely than their insured counterparts to be diagnosed with advanced disease requiring more extensive and costly treatment. Uninsured women also experienced delays in starting and completing treatment while trying to navigate through all that “free” treatment you and others insist is out there. Do you know how long it takes to apply and be accepted for these programs? I would imagine it is not a swift process.

Also, a study, titled Association of Insurance with Cancer Care Utilization and Outcomes, presents evidence that lack of adequate health insurance coverage is associated with reduced access to care and poorer outcomes for cancer patients. The article further presents data on the association between health insurance status and screening, stage at diagnosis and survival for breast and colorectal cancer.

I stand by my statement that uninsured people do not get the same level of care as insured people. And since the right seems to tout the level of care received in the U.S. compared to the U.K. and Canada, I would expcect our mortality numbers to increase under Obamacare.

bob – I just have to correct your assumption (remember what assume really means) about cancer rates. You said:
“Because our mortality rates for cancer are roughly equal to single payer system country rates.

Do the math on what that means. It means the only possibility is that our poor are getting treatment for cancer at at least equal rates. Cancer is top three for causes of death. There is absolutely no possibility that having cancer and being poor is a death sentence, or we would have millions, and millions, and millions, of deaths from it.”

Saying they are all equal isn’t exactly right. For example: (I’m using small number just to make this fit in my post)

Country A – everyone treated the same: 1,000 people (250 in each income bracket) get cancer, 700 people (175 no income, 175 low income, 175 middle class, & 175 high income) survive.

Country B – you’re on your own: 1,000 people (250 in each income bracket) get cancer, 700 people (100 no income, 175 low income, 200 middle class, & 225 high income) survive.

Both countries have the same overall rate, but the different economic intervals are not the same.

            *****
This is a MATH EXAMPLE ONLY!!
            *****

I did not research actual survival statistics. I am only pointing out that the average can be the same.

Congratulations Libby. You are finally right on something. Our mortality rates will increase more with Obamacare. Rationed care always tends to do that and taking $716 Billion out of Medicare will certainly ration for seniors who will not receive proper care. The waiting times will increase for surgery and many will die long before they get it, just like Britain & Canada has been doing all along.

Thanks. I was just in your neck of the woods – Southern Indiana. Picked up a $70K Comp Contract. Prospect was doing a tap dance on the current agent, so in a few weeks headed back to grab the rest of the business. Could amount to about $200K in premiums overall. Did a solid pitch to come and speak with 30 employees regarding OBama Care.

That’s another part of the marketing strategy -talk to the business about group presentations… This one looks very promising on all fronts.

This was a Blue Collar deal and I am 99.99% sure my prospect noticed as he drew my attention. It may have helped close this deal – sex sells – but this is not how I want to bring in new business. Nor do I want anything related to Sex Harassment coming at me. This gal is good at what she does.

I had several audits in southern Indiana when I was a premium auditor. It’s a good area to work. Most of the people are actually friendly and understand insurance. Well, those I had to deal with did, at least. Oh, well, now I’m only in Indiana to pick up or drop off my granddaughter.

On the employee issue, why don’t you just ask her if she’s seen the movie New In Town. There’s a scene in that movie almost exactly as you described it, except it’s during dinner and not the sales pitch. Although getting your wife to talk to her could work. Or, that could back fire and get your wife upset. No telling with women – we like to keep our men on their toes.

Do you wonder where the Navigators are coming from? Planned Parenthood is getting several grants. Other Pro Obama organizations include Organizing for America (Acorn under another name?), SEIU. Those Federal Agencies participating in the data hub include IRS, Social Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security, Veterans Administration, Defense Department, Personnel Management Office and even the Peace Corps. Navigators don’t have to have a high school diploma, will be given only 20 hours training, not background check, no fingerprinting and we are supposed to trust them with our most personal and financial info. If this doesn’t scare most consumers, what will?

And Medicare is so full of fraud – I know for a fact because my Mom is on Medicare and when she gets her bills from BC/BS there are charges on there for treatments/procedures that she never even had done. She’s even phone BC/BS to complain and they don’t even do anything about the fraudulent charges. What do you think is going to happen with Obamacare?

No, they are not almost bankrupt. Social Security has been taking in about $100 billion a year more than it pays out. If nothing is done, that annual surplus will gradually shift to a deficit as the country ages, but Social Security currently has $2.6 trillion in assets, enough to cover their projected obligations for decades.

And it’s your mother’s doctor that is committing fraud, not Medicare.

If these are small non profits do not have the capacity to reponse to a paperwork request, how can they possibly be qualified to help people navigate through their health insurance choices? Signing up for health insurance involves the release of much sensitive information. Isn’t this worth making sure it is done right? The grants are having the appearance of free money for these groups. I guess none of these groups had to submit extra paperwork to the IRS is requiring from some others.

Yes, D, I do. I have a good friend who has been selling health insurance since 2008 and he is being trained as a navigator. Back in the day you only needed the person’s full name, SS and address. NOT their banking information which is how you’ll be paying for your premium. AND because of the privacy laws agents did not have access to personal information other then the underwriting questions on an application. The navigators have every detail of your personal life at their finger tips. If that doesn’t give you the willies I don’t know what will. Humana has my banking information because that is how my premium is paid, it’s taken out of my account and then my boss reimburses me and I’m fine with Humana doing so as I trust them. However, some new person off the street who could be a criminal having all this information, you bet your sweet a$$ I problem with it.

Do you trust your doctor’s office employees? What about the lab that processes all your tests? Oh, don’t forget the hospital registration staff who are paid minimum wage and don’t have a back ground check either.

You share your information every time you have some type of health care provided to you.

However, all of that is beside the point. The last information I read stated that navigators were not going to have access to your information. They can answer your questions, but will not see what you are doing on the computer.

Yes, the do, JW. When I got licensed to sell health insurnce via an agency I had a background check done. And the friend I have that is training to be a navigator had a backgound check done as well. In fact the agency I work for now did a backgroudn check, a creit check, and a criminal check. And, this should be done with all the navaigators as well. And I’m not racist but how much of the populaiton of navigaots are are going to be
African American? Seeing that commuintiy organizers are the ones who seem to be getting these jobs. Just an observation.

AA – you are confusing some selling insurance with someone working for an insurance company. The people at Humana who answer the phone and answer questions are not licensed agents. Yes, I know this. Humana has raided my employer for people to work in their ACA division.

Could he have been behind another 9/11 type of attack? You know your boy Bill Clinton had his finger on the kill bin Laden button a few times. How much money did he save by not pressing that button? Note his wording, could he have been behind another 9/11 type of attack?

If you look into history, which you don’t often,

Saddam housed terrorists just after the attack. This is not debatable. He was in league with supporting people who attacked our nation.

So how long before Saddam supported a terrorist organization that attacked us (again)?

I don’t know, but I wouldn’t want it to happen (again).

Just adding the (agains)for the historically challenged, such as yourself.

Keep in mind, you did not even know the country in which Osama Bin Laden was found in until I gave you the source, nor did you know the name of the water boarded detainee, nor the date he was tortured, nor that date he first gave information (prior to Obama’s presidency) until I gave those links.

You also apparently don’t know that CIA intelligence already knows for certain that Osama was hiding out in Iraq under shelter just after the 9/11 attack.

How would it look to the world if the first mixed race president got impeached? He should be impeached. He’s been caught in SO many lies. Just yesterday he said he didn’t draw the red line in the sand but back in 2012 he said just that. Maybe he just has a bad memory but there is such thing as YouTube and now he can’t back out of it but he is blaming everyone except himself which is what he’s always done. And the main stream media just keep on protecting him. You honestly believe that a law that blended together substantial changes TOGETHER with subsidies will have the substantial changes changed?

      Hah.

Now that it is a subsidy no poor person will want it removed.

Since it was tied to other changes, rather than just setting up a subsidy, we can’t change the program itself.

Stop saying wait until it passes and then make changes. Your guy made sure no changes can be made.

Pass a subsidy all you want. That would have been fine. Pass changes in laws separately. That would have been fine. Pulling it together? That is not fine.

    1. Didn’t the groups have to complete all kinds of documentation for the grants? That documentation should have included what the money will be used for. Make a copy of the grant request to send to the letter writer.

    2. If the “non-profit navigator” isn’t keeping copies of all letters sent out and keeping all letters received, they shouldn’t be allowed to receive federal money. Always, always, always keep every scrap of documentation. It is the only way to cover your behind. If the group is doing the right thing and keeping copies of everything, make a copy and send it to the letter writer.

Read the article carefully. Republicans want to add “regulation” and want to learn more about how these groups will affect “consumer protection”. Really. Republicans wanting more regulation and seemingly caring about consumer protection. Wow. A new day has come! I guess republicans care about the common man after all. Why people are suspicious?

You have no specifics to prove that this has not been planned out carefully (with many republican ideas like health exchanges and all paying into the system). It’s all Fox news fear mongering. If it does work out, think of the various republican ideas (noted above) that will be used to take credit for it’s success when future republican con men run for President down the road.

Another comment taken out of context by the right.
Her contention was that the Senate “didn’t have a bill.” And until the Senate produced an actual piece of legislation that could be matched up and debated against what was passed by the House, no one truly knew what would be voted on. “They were still trying to woo the Republicans,” Pelosi said of the Senate leadership and the White House, trying to “get that 60th vote that never was coming.”

            Libby,

That’s a stretch and not even what she meant.

If you’re going to defend a terrible comment, you might want to do it better.

            Allow me to assist:

She clarified later that she meant Americans will not know how much it helps and how much it benefits them until it is in place. She said she was simply stating that people would see how much it benefited them after they had it going.

It was not to buy the 60th vote.

Now I don’t personally find that to be a bad comment, because we have no psychics. That is the counter argument to republicans saying that it definitely will be bad, she says it will probably be good.

I do agree that FFA is taking it out of context, but you’re lying to yourself about what she meant.

Some members of Congress are refusing to help their own constituents navigate the new exchanges to get the benefits available to them. More unresearched rhetoric from the right. I’m sure you don’t know that four different independent investigations by various state and city Attorneys General and the GAO cleared ACORN, finding its employees had not engaged in criminal activities and that the organization had managed its federal funding appropriately, and calling the videos deceptively and selectively edited to present the workers in the worst possible light.

The exchange writer? Where did you get that idea? Blue Cross has to submit plans and rates to the state for approval in the exchange, just like every other carrier that wants to participate. The rates and plans have to have been developed, they have just not been released to the public. That will happen, in Illinois, on 10/1/13. That’s 3-1/2 weeks away. All your questions and frustrations will not make it come any faster.

From what I have seen & been through, BCBS is an Exchange writer. So far, in IL, all I have been able to verify on the Personal side, its just BCBS and Humana. I have heard grumblings that the state is putting together their own plan (like anyone in Springfield knows what they are doing). I find that odd as they are currently engaging the gov in legal action over their pay checks.

All kidding aside, I have not verified this but an article I read says:

“Every year, the U.S. Congress appropriates more than $1 billion in military aid to Egypt. But that money never gets to Egypt. It goes to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, then to a trust fund at the Treasury and, finally, out to U.S. military contractors that make the tanks and fighter jets that ultimately get sent to Egypt.”

So it’s Congress that approves military aid to Egypt. Not Obama.

I agree we shouldn’t be giving them anything, but it’s not like we’re handing over cash. It’s just a big corporate welfare/fraud scheme.

Libby, I didn’t say it went anywhere, but the Reverend did present the evidence and convicted him and the results were sent to Congress, but of course it died on the vine since they are a bunch of spineless nitwits in Congress. You should listen to Rev Manning sometime. He makes a whole lot more sense than any of our politicians and he can run circles around Jesse Jackson, Charlie Rangel and others of their ilk.

Gee, he must be a racist? Is it possible to be of the same race and be considered a racist? I’ve never seen our country so racially divided. Instead of bring us all together as everyone who voted for Obama thought – he only widened the gap. Trayvon Martin gets gunned down and Obama’s on the TV saying “If he had a son he’d look like Trayvon Martin.” However, an athlete from Australia, Lane, gets shot in the back in cold blood while jogging in OK and you don’t hear a peep from Obama, or Al Sharpton showing their outrage. Obama should have never opened his mouth when Trayvon who was shot by a “White Hispanic.” Is there such a thing? And I know plenty of people who find the word Hispanic offensive as well. IF so, then would it be safe to say that we now have a “White African American” president? Just askin’.

Why is necessary to even mention his race? I think the term for caucasian/African-American is mulato.

And yes, it’s possible to be racist against your own race. It’s called self-hatred.

Self-hatred – that’s a new one – typical coming from you. Why mention race? “If I had a son he’d look look like Travyon Martin.” because if he were white I suppose he wouldn’t have looked anything like a son that Obama would have had. However, he might have looked like any of the 3 who gunned down Lane if Obama had a son. So what is the correct classification for someone who is white and, sorry for the term, Hispanic?

Self-hatred is a new one? Where have you been? Under a rock?

Self-hatred (also called self-loathing) refers to an extreme dislike or hatred of oneself, or being angry at or even prejudiced against oneself. The term is also used to designate a dislike or hatred of a group, family, social class, mental illness, or stereotype to which one belongs and/or has. For instance, “ethnic self-hatred” is the extreme dislike of one’s ethnic group or cultural classification. It may be associated with aspects of autophobia.

The term “self-hatred” is used infrequently by psychologists and psychiatrists, who would usually describe people who hate themselves as “persons with low self-esteem”.

How is that hatred working out in Chicago? Black on black murder has been out of control for a long time. If you don’t believe me, ask FFA who lives there. Gangs roam the street and shoot people at random or they have a gang shootout and innocents are killed. Why doesn’t Imanuel raid the gangs and confiscate their guns and do some arrests? I heard a report the other day that in Sargeants home town of Detroit, a 911 call is responded to in 58 minutes and yet the gun control freaks say to just call the Police and let them handle it. Oops! the victims have been dead for a long time before they show up and all they do is call the morgue.

All true there Agent, Last year, Murder rate up 50%. This year so far down 25%. Still up 25% over three years. No killing reported in Safe Passage Zones yet. Last week per ABC News at 10:00pm while all the cops were in safe passage mode, a rapist wanders attacking women while cops are busy protecting kids.

President Obama was asked about the Trayvon Martin shooting. It’s not like he walked out into the Rose Garden and held a press conference about it. Have any reporters asked him about the Australian? If one did, I’m sure President Obama would have an opinion.

Actually Always, James Carville, the Clinton advisor already blamed GW for the Syrian mess. I saw a picture on the internet of then Senator John & Teresa Heinz Kerry having dinner with Bashar Assad and wife in 2009 when they thought he was a good guy. Now, Kerry wants to blow Assad up. Politics makes strange bedfellows, doesn’t it?

Uhhh, the red line was actually drawn by the UN. Obama did say red line, too. I’ll give you that. But, if he decided to take action without Congress’ approval, you’d be crying about President Obama acting like a dictator and abusing his Presidential powers. Obama Derangement Syndrome.

One of our Il congress men had a town hall last night (WGN AM News). Everyone the news showed was blasting the powers that be for even thinking about it. Seems – from that small sample – that no American wants another Mid East Conflict.

Just think Cap & Libby- your going to be blasting OBama for getting us involved in this just like you do with Bush & Iraq. BTW, I blast any one that send troops over there. They hate us. Let them kill each other off and be done with the Evil in that region.

        Just found this on AOL:
Update, 5:45 p.m.: As of 5:45 p.m. Eastern Time, AOL.com’s unofficial opinion poll had exceeded 145,000 respondents and current voting totals as of that time show that 76 percent of AOL users who have taken part in the poll oppose a military strike in Syria. Meanwhile, the Obama administration is still pushing hard for intervention. Secretary of State John Kerry told The Huffington Post on Friday afternoon that President Obama has the right to order military strikes on Syria even if Congress doesn’t authorize the plan.

What we want just don’t matter to the folks in DC – OBama and Kerry in particular.

FFA – what he APPEARS to be doing and what will actually be done might be two different things. The rest of the world is urging us to intervene. He has to make it look like he is pushing for that even if he is not, which I’m not saying is the case. But sending over a few missiles is alot different than sending troops over there. As you yourself said, he’s between a rock and a hard place right now.

Well FFA, Dallas & Chicago are both 1-0, but I have been telling you that Dallas is not a sound team. They get three turnovers early and get 3 points. 6 for the game and barely win. If the Bears or New England had gotten the same gifts, the game would have been a rout. These guys just play helter skelter and don’t execute properly. Penalties at home are a sure prescription that they will lose soon. My guess is they will go into Kansas City next week and Andy Reid will hand them their head.

Supposedly, Garrett is not calling the offensive plays this year and turned it over to Callahan. It doesn’t look much different than last year and they still get way too many penalties, especially holding. Those are the drive killers. Romo will not last until mid season with this kind of beating he is taking. I don’t care if they put him in Kevlar from shoulder to waste, he will not make it.
