What’s not to like? I’m sure he recruited a bunch of experts from the insurance industry and got their opinions on the feasibility of this “fix”, just like he did 3 years ago when he decided the ACA was the best way to fix the healthcare system, right? It’s unlike him to just implement something without a ton of research first.

Oh, wait…Bush / Cheney lied about WMD’s in Iraq and Republicans Are Evil, so this is ok.

Why, because they refused to support this mess? Looks like about 40 Dems just voted to amend it. The whole time during the shutdown, the Republicans kept asking Obama to at least delay the ACA. Obama put his fingers in his ears, refused to listen, and kept on harping about “The Republican Shutdown”.

Mr. President: The time has come to throw this garbage out and hit the RESET button. Keep the parts of it that make sense (if any) and actually WORK ACROSS THE AISLE to come up with an actual SOLUTION. Stop the endless campaigning about how great you are, stop blaming your predecessors for any of your difficulties, stop taking credit for anything good which can even remotely be traced back to you while at the same time denying any knowledge of anything negative, and FIX THIS MESS.

How is Manchin doing up there in West Virginia? Is he up in 14 as well? I think Patty Murray of Washington is in a bit of hurt now that 290,000 have lost their healthcare in that very liberal state. Wow, 39 Democratic House members voted for a Republican bill today. Where have we seen such bi-partisan support for a Republican bill in the past 5 years? I wonder if Obama will veto it if it makes it past the Reid unpenetrable wall. If the Senate doesn’t do anything as usual, they should ride him out of town on a rail with a generous layer of tar and feathers.

Acually, You will be required to buy 4 wheel drive, tow pkg & a sun roof- but your car wont have those features (because you will never use them anyway) The money the manufacturer saves (not needing to provide the features you wont use or didn’t want) goes to pay for other people’s needs.

“The government said on Thursday that it would use a risk adjustment pool created in the law to help offset the costs that could come as the mix of participants changes.”
Carl Rove, on the tube last night, read from the law which says these funds cannot be used on “unqualified” plans – so it looks like yet another law is going to be pushed aside by President Mr Fix-it.

He does his research Libby. This Risk Adjustment Pool was created by Democrats. It will probably be used to help bail the companies out for lost revenue if they have to issue policies at lower rates to get people back in the market. By the way, this is a one year reprieve if it happens. I wonder how many seriously ill people will die for lack of coverage in the interim. After all, the President recently bragged that he was good at killing people. This will be another example.

And I am not referring to him speaking about the Risk Adjustment Pool. I’m talking about his Bush campaign years. Ancient history, so there’s no need for you to respond. Just thumb me down and move on.

When it comes to lying, he can’t hold a candle to your guy and his minions. It isn’t even a contest. In fact, you could have 39 Roves in a room and not lie like your President did for 3 years.

The President has about as much authority to change the plain text of a law passed by Congress as I do.

So he gets up there on his bully pulpit and “permits” (nay, encourages) 3rd parties to violate the law that Congress passed. There is no other way to put it. When (and if, a big if) insurers would violate the law by issuing insurance contracts that do not meet the plain text of the law, and they get sued by insureds (whom Obama cannot bully around) for higher benefits as required by the law, will Obama pay for it?

This, from former “law professor” Barry, at a March 2007 fundraiser: “I was a constitutional law professor, which means unlike the current president I actually respect the Constitution.”

Well, at least Libby agrees that Rahm Emmanual is a scumbag. But before they got of point the issue is that Obama has no authority to change the law that he put in place (ACA). Therefore he can’t make insurers violate the law. Thus, his press conference was political fodder or those Democrats which are at risk come election time. Had Obama’s press conference had any substance the 39 Dems that voted with the house bill, presented by Fred Upton (R) Michigan would not have voted for the bill and against Obama

Sarge, jury still out on Rahm…
He seems to have got the murder rate under “control”. Lowest annual number of people shot in quite a while.
Need a full school year to see what happens with his education plan. Have had no innocents killed in the safe passage routes yet.
He got the parking meter issued hammered out as much as he could. Its that 75 year lease to a Canadian Contractor that’s a big bug a boo right now.
Also drawing business in to Chicago from the Burbs. Don’t know how he is doing it, but he is.
Next issue to tackle is the Union Thugs at McCormack place as they are driving event after event out to FLA & Vegas. WOW has relocated to Rosemont Convention Center. That place will be a vacant structure if he don’t get that one worked out.

The D.C. insurance commissioner was fired for saying (out loud & publicly) what the experts (and the rest of us at IJ) said about this fix.

Rule 1, if you’re in politics or an appointed position, keep your opinions to yourself. Doesn’t matter if you’re right or not.
