And inevitable. If these politicians actually believed in the policies they were advocating they would be trying to put them in place before elections to help their party. It’s all just a power game to them.

Yes, helping the less fortunate is always a political power play. Just ask Rush Limbaugh who saw through the power hungry motives of the Pope and blasted him today as being Marxist for the same reason — caring about the less unfortunate.

Wonder how those Limbaugh soundbites will play with the Catholic faithful base. You know which ever party commits political suicide last will be the party voted out of power. BTW, where can I send Limbaugh some daisies?

You mistake me for caring about Rush or any other repub blowhard I am not that easy to paint into a corner. I don’t play political gang games.

The fact is both parties are all about when and how to be elected again and only that, not “helping the less fortunate”.

Livefree, you tagged your power comment onto another comment that said the ACA was conveniently delayed until after the mid terms — which tended to indicated your agreed with that post. I think Obama does care about the less fortunate and does believe in his policies. As does the Pope believe in his policies. You just happened to remark it on a day when Rushbo is calling the Pope a Marxist for the despicable act of caring for the less fortunate.

If you’re going to be neutral, you need to be neutral.

Yes I do agree that the delay till after the elections was not by any coincidence. However, nowhere did I say anything about helping the less fortunate or not, just that I believe politicians that really believed in what they were promoting wouldn’t delay things until after an election to protect their votes. How that has to do with Rush at all I am not sure I understand, but I do understand that you like to talk about it.

I never claimed to be neutral, I have opinions that I firmly believe in at the moment (always open to change). They just happen to not coincide with the idiotic Democrip vs. Rebloodlican gang war.

But onto the subject you brought up; I highly disagree that Obama, Bush, Clinton or any of the recent presidents and a majority (not all) of the less recent ones ever since Hamilton have had “the less fortunate” in their hearts. They are about keeping their political party in charge to service their big business cronies. That is my opinion and I am guessing that is were we disagree.

And, yes, I strongly disagree that Clinton and Obama are about keeping their political party in charge to service their big business cronies. They were always about healthcare for Americans first. Bush was not — he was for big business first. Hello needless war in Iraq.

You’re an enigma to me as much as Agent is to me on the other side of your political party war on this site. You both have some odd debating tactics that seem to take random crazy tangents into unrelated topics. Interesting (and ineffective in my opinion).

BTW we still have troops in over 150 countries worldwide so Obama may not have started the Iraq war but he has hardly been a president war-free. Legacy and political party come first to him just as they did for Bush.

            No, just no.

I’m not letting either Celitica or Libby off the hook on this one:

The pope is suddenly your friend when he makes anti-capitalistic comments, and curse Limbaugh for insulting the pope?

Let’s not forget Obama’s speech at a Lutheran college a few years back regarding Catholic dogma. Catholics got pissed off and spoke up about it. One of you is honestly stating that you believe the Pope has good intentions with his beliefs, but is willing to condemn republicans who share the pope’s beliefs (anti abortion in the case of Celcitica) and the other is lamblasting Limbaugh for something I know for a fact you have done and you are no different (Libby)

Absolutely, not ok. At all. The level of hypocrisy is inconceivable (yes, princess bride reference, couldn’t resist).

Although most of both your crap isn’t ok as it is.

Libby for example for saying recently, and then I just refused to take the argument since you were a fool, that lesbian and gay couples are the same as heterosexual, there’s a reason I swore my head off at you.

And here you are stating you totally are all for the pope, who shares the same beliefs regarding and has had speeches regarding, tolerance for gays, and that benefits need to be weighed based on the very different needs of gay couples.

Are you going to go ahead and chew his head off and claim you respect his beliefs and believe he loves gays then?

            Are you?

The #@%@ no I know you aren’t. Playing moderate again both of you eh? Nice try.

It’s also the title of a very good book I read. Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot. You should read it sometime. I’ll lend you my copy.

And when did I extoll the virtues of the Pope? All I said was Limbaugh was stupid for insulting him, but that he should continue because anything he can do to piss people off is OK with me.

Now is that clear enough for you or do you want to argue some more about it?

I’d welcome some analysis regarding presidential/executive prerogatives. Legally, can they do this? Whether a person likes PPACA or does not, I am incredulous as to the number of postponements (employer mandate/penalties)or just re-writing of rules as deemed necessary (9% household income versus W2 etc.)What the insurance and business communities need is predictability and this loosey-goosey way of implementation is not that.

The thought of presidents concerning themselves with whether or not they have the executive right to do anything they desire to do is a humorous notion to me. Decades and decades of statist propaganda to allow the state to legitimize coercion, violence and force through public opinion and voting for “the lesser evil” that has been channeled to that public by controlled media groups and Hollywood has secured the state access to any executive prerogative they desire without the public batting an eye.

To show any concern for public opinion or a pause for “the balance of powers” is surely just for pleasing the masses and political inertia more than actually advancing society. Recent and past presidents are not the only ones taking advantage of this statist legitimizing propaganda but they, as the face of the feds, are the best example of it.

Jack, government has no business being in the private sector. Look at the mess they have made. A poor law, poor premise, a non functioning website and idiots trying to run it. I wonder what happened to the information that went in on applications. The carriers said they didn’t get it. How are they supposed to issue coverage on little or no information? Also, a lot of low information voters don’t even know how to put info in. Many have spouses listed as children, lie on non smoking, income etc. The inmates are running the asylum.

Yes Libby. absolutely. Most recently, my brother that works for State Farm was all but told to take the transfer or find another job. One of the destinations is Texas. Writing is no longer on the wall. State Farm is on a massive pull out of IL. They are a major employer – the Bloomington area unemployment rate is consistently 4% lower then the state.

Additionally, he has provided other very useful info to me as has you, jw. Ron puts things in numbers terms that I use. And I can not research anything close to Ron, You, Agent, Cap, Sarge. I think if the two of you would stop insulting each other, both of you would find that each other does provide good info. My entire agency was built on other peoples ideas – very rarely my own…

I honestly could care less about Bush. He is past. When he was President, I was taking home over $100K after all expenses. My home Value was over $250K. Now, under ofnBama & Quinn, not! Barely making ends meet this quarter. Large part due to my wifes accident. Bills have piled up.

So, to answer your question – everyone (except Celtica all she does is play the blame game) in this forum has posted very useful info… None the less, I would still buy her a beer if I ever met her. Bottoms up!

I agree FFA. You know what? There could be many more deaths resulting from the Obamacare fiasco than either Iraq or Afghanistan as seriously ill people lose their healthcare, can’t afford their treatment or surgeries and just die because of it. There will be gaps in coverage and time is not on their side. Obama did say he was good at killing people. This proves it.

Well, that settles that — if Jack isn’t haven’t any problems, why should anyone else?

            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medicare_Part_D

            Implementation issues

Standards for electronic prescribing for Medicare Part D conflict with regulations in many US states.

Plan and Health Care Provider goals are not aligned: PDP’s and MA’s are rewarded for focusing on low cost drugs to all beneficiaries, while Providers are rewarded for quality of care – sometimes involving expensive technologies.

Conflicting goals: Plans are required to have a tiered exemptions process for beneficiaries to get a higher-tier drug at a lower cost, but plans must grant exception when medically necessary. However, the rule denies beneficiaries the right to request a tiering exception for certain high-cost drugs.

Lack of standardization: Because each plan can choose their formulary and tier levels, drugs appearing on Tier 2 in one plan may be on Tier 3 in another plan. Tier 2 drugs may have a different co-pay with different plans. There are plans with no deductibles and the coinsurance for the most expensive drugs varies widely. Some plans may insist on step therapy, which means that the patient must use generics first before the company will pay for higher priced drugs. There is an appeal process, and the insurance company is required to respond within a short timeframe, so as to not further the burden on the patient.

jack, they just make things up. Part D was a piece of cake compared to what we have going on right now. As I recall, it was also bi-partisan, not just a partisan law passed by a bunch of Progressive Democrats.

Agent is correct in his recollection of Part D being passed by a bi partisan group. In the senate, it was 54 -44 with two not voting. Of the 54 yes votes, 10 were Dems. The house passed it 220-215, not sure of the breakdown there. So most definitely it had some hefty bi partisan support in the senate. You can look it up to confirm.
FFA, regarding State Farm and Texas, they have snapped up tons of square footage of office space in the Dallas area, it is just sitting empty awaiting the exodus from Illinois. Very sad for the Illinois folkes. For us in TX, just more corporations escaping high taxes to the south and a very business friendly atmosphere.

Yes TX lady, Texas is one of the destinations he can choose from. I have told him some of the things that get put in this forum regarding TX. He is doing his research. His wife don’t want to move. His kids are split. He cant find another job in IL as he is one of the higher ups in claims and his current earnings scare away prospective employers. He does a lot of litigation. Wonder what the heck they are going to do – fly him back and forth for court appearances??? Seemingly, its the only way they are getting out from under the upside down mortgage they are saddled with. Offering him a sweet heart deal. This is going to hurt Illinois in a big way. A massive amount of jobs leaving.

Perhaps FFA can try that since he hasn’t had much luck doing it the recommended way. Just mail that cocktail napkin in to Sebelius and she will take care of everything. Keep on re-arranging those deck chairs on the Titanic and all will be well.

The website IS working? Really, now many people have gotten insurance cards? I’d bet to wager a big fat zero! No premiums have been collected – guess why? That portion of the website hasn’t been created yet. Applications haven’t been sent to the insurance companies and the ones that they did receive have had all the information scrambled on them. Children were listed as spouses. If that is what you call working than your definition of working doesn’t comply with the definition in Webster’s Dictionary. The site needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. And if the insurance companies haven’t been able to process any applications how in the blazes are people insured? Can you please answer that one question?

For one thing Always, the coverage through the exchange doesn’t go into effect until 1/1/14, so you’re right, no-one’s covered right now.

Insurance carriers are issuing policies for the coverage. As it has always been, they will be issuing ID cards and collecting premiums.

Finally, check out today’s IJ. The website is indeed working and most of the bugs have been fixed.

            Try to keep up.

Newsflash Celtica, it is not working. Even CNN tried to test it on air Sunday and got error messages so they had egg all over their faces just like this administration that still touts “progress”. No security, delays, losing customer info not transmitted to carriers and we are over 2 months into the fixes and a billion dollars later. It isn’t even completely built and how are premiums billed since there is no option to pay. What a site! Amazon gets millions of hits a day and they don’t seem to have a problem selling what they do.

And if you don’t know the difference between an Amazon retail site and a government site linking 7 different agencies and many insurance companies, you need to take a class in computer programming.

I’m sure the carrier will be responsible for collecting the premium, just as it’s always been.

          http://www.ijreview.com/2013/12/99050-new-obamacare-problem-got-megyn-kelly-fired/

“I’m sure the carriers will be responsible for collecting the premium” – HOW? That portion of the website hasn’t been built yet. It’s NOT the responsibility of the carriers to collect the premium – it’s the websites. Libby, you say your an agent, when you write a policy don’t you have to make that payment on the carrier’s website? I know I do and I do it all the time for each carrier we rep there is a website for that specific carrier. Geez Louise – keep grasping at straws. I think the person who should have taken a class in computer programming should have been Obama and Michelle after all it’s her friends company that the Obama’s hired to build this mess that in 3 years and millions of taxpayer money doesn’t even work. The security system hasn’t even been built. Are you going to go out there and apply for a plan when it’s a hackers dream?? What the democrats rolled out if it weren’t true would have been funny. People loosing their insurance and not being able to secure another plan – people getting notices that their premiums have increased over 50%. Obama pissed off a lot of people. Elections have consequences.

I work for a company (www.electiverx.com) that works with businesses to provide affordable heath coverage that qualifies for the ACA. These delays signal that there are still many unknowns surrounding Obamacare. Everyone needs to stay up to date and make a decision that is right for them.

FFA, wishing the best for your brother, it is a hard decision, especially when uprooting kids. We’ve been here 25+ years,DFW area, we are native Chicagoans. We still get our WGN News, can read the Daily Herald online, and have tons of other Chicagoans living in the DFW area. Lots of Bears fans here. Home prices are way way lower than up north, along with lower food prices, lower gas, and no income tax. Plus, we can plant flowers in the winter. I love that part. Oh, and it is a right to work state, making home repairs, etc a lot lower price and road construction gets done a lot quicker.

Additionally, I do not have the docs on the life ins cash value he took nor do I have one IRA I know my dad had. So, I look for the figure to top $2.5M on a conservative estimate.

Why would the powers that be roll out a website that wasn’t even completed? Here is an interesting article from the WSJ – it pretty much sums up Obamacouldcareless.

After talking to my producer in depth, here is the explanation. Go directly into the carriers web site. Don’t mess with obamas site. Create a user account for the customer. Make Sure that you input your user ID in the Agent Field.
The subsidy calculator does not work, so apply for an exchange policy but do not take the subsidy on the front end. Wait for your subsidy on the back end (your tax return). I know that means pay way more, but….
The payment system does not work. There is an option for “Bill Me”.
I’ll be doing mine tomorrow, so….

He is so worried about dental but not vision. If I cant see, then I would not notice all the teeth falling out of some ones mouth…

Took about 20 minutes in the carrier site. My Ap count is now up to three.
