The other experts in Colorado predicted numerous hurricanes last fall with many making landfall in the US. Oops! They just can’t figure out why nothing happened. If the liberals want to make the sea level decline, they should just ask their President to wave his magic wand and it will happen.

Speaking of predictions, the whole thing reminds me of another, non-scientific, group that has been making money hand-over-fist by claiming that the end of the world is near. They claim that soon, a 2,000 year old corpse is going to magically return and bring about the end of the world (that’s much more realistic). They’ve gotten a lot of money and political power by espousing such idiocy for almost 2,000 years now, but, amazingly, we’re still here. Oops! I think this other group has been wrong about their predictions more often than the one in Colorado. Maybe they should just ask their 2,000-year-old to wave his magic wand, and it will happen.

The 2000 year old corpse you refer to never had a magic wand. He led by example, was humble and human. He taught people to love one another. He never said he would be back.
          Human beings made that up.

      Apparently you haven’t.

“studies show that globally, volcanoes on land and under the sea release a total of about 200 million tonnes of CO2 annually.

This seems like a huge amount of CO2, but a visit to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center (CDIAC) website (http://cdiac.ornl.gov/) helps anyone armed with a handheld calculator and a high school chemistry text put the volcanic CO2 tally into perspective. Because while 200 million tonnes of CO2 is large, the global fossil fuel CO2 emissions for 2003 tipped the scales at 26.8 billion tonnes. Thus, not only does volcanic CO2 not dwarf that of human activity, it actually comprises less than 1 percent of that value.”

        Abhorrently, incorrect.

        Medicare.
        Social Security.

Programs that after development we have made far better programs, (see Paul Ryan) and the democrats say that the old will die, the young will die, the uninsured will die, the world will fall, the businesses will put you in chains and steal from you, and hell you might even die!

Paul Ryan’s plan to invest the 12.2% into stocks to grow, do you know what the democrat’s response was? What if the stocks explode!?? That happens in down times in which a tax can easily provide a fund for.

But no no, if we set up a private plan for social security, with a public social security net for those whose plans end up under a certain threshold…

        Wait for it…

        Wait for it…

        PEOPLE WILL DIE.

You’re wrong about republicans. Was there a commercial with Obama pushing a granny off a cliff?

Because there was one like that about Paul Ryan.

        PEOPLE WILL DIE.

        Always with the fear tactics.

Great depression: IF WE DON’T REGULATE PEOPLE WILL DIE, THE ECONOMY WILL DIE.

Great recession: IF WE DON’T REGULATE PEOPLE WILL DIE, THE ECONOMY WILL DIE!!!

Reagan: Look guys, it’s bad, let’s not get the government too involved in this. People won’t die. Stay calm.

        See the difference?

And in Reagan’s case we came out of it.

But according to the democrats that was disastrous policy, people will die, suffer, etc.

Did I not already show you the email stating the sequester would make 1.45 million elderly and children go without a good hot meal? DON’T LET THE SEQUESTER HAPPEN PEOPLE WILL STARVE!!!

The democrats have the corner on it Libby.

Bob, I think it was the Democrat’s own Allan Grayson who was spewing the venom back in 2010 that under the Republicans Health Plan, people would die. He had a big chart in front of the House screaming at the top of his lungs. For his effort, he was soundly defeated in the mid terms. Unfortunately, when Florida was re-districted, he filed in that liberal district and got back in. He is like a bad penny that keeps showing up. I was not disappointed to see him get ripped off in an investment scheme where he thought he was going to make some easy money. He and others were ripped off for $18 million, the perp just sentenced to jail.

Alaska Dispatch reports that algea found in sea ice reflect that the Earth has been warming for over 150 years, not just 30. Researches also show that the Sea Ice Pack has increased 60% in the last 15 years. Natives on the North Slope will tell you that “..the sun use to rise over there… now it rises here…”. Cause – Earthquakes, they change the Earths axis.

We’ve been in Global Warming since the end of the Ice Age………

Was the Earth cleaner during the dinosaur age…….. No it wasn’t, becuase the dinosaurs did not band together and fight forest fires, they would burn for years!

I guarantee you are a liberal drone. Which is what meaty was playing at. School study doesn’t make you smart. Application of study makes you smart. Ergo why my dad when he was alive, he regularly schooled little whiny brats like you, when they interned at space labs medical.

Aww I’m sorry, is that not advanced enough poor little boy? A space engineering firm with college graduate interns must have known what they were doing right? They have to graduate with a research paper after all (which is where most the bad research regarding sea levels crap comes from to begin with) The people in there were post grad students, all whiney and stupid like you, couldn’t think for themselves, couldn’t make a solution, but certainly could quote their books. He corrected the entire sections of their contributions of work on a regular basis. Several engineers in training under one person. Why? They all thought they knew #$@%@ and they didn’t. Like you. And I can always spot them.

Ah, more government-funded studiers telling us that the government is the only solution to our problems – but of course more government-funded study is needed first.
The important question is not whether the earth’s climate is changing. It is: “Do you trust a gang of self-interested politicians – the same clowns who gave us ‘Whip Inflation Now’ buttons, Cash for Clunkers and healthcare.gov – to change the climate of the entire planet for the better?”
If Monsanto said that destructive climate change is coming and the only remedy is to force everybody to pay Monsanto to fix it, would we not laugh them off the stage?

I suggest you google an article from 1993 – “Climate Change The Pentagon’s worst nightmare”. That was the title and it was issued by the US Pentagon. It speaks for itself if you can remember how to actually read and comprehend the words. When countries have uncontrollable droughts or monsoons it causes large populations to migrate…migration causes over crowding and an inability for people to grow crops and feed everyone. Maybe some of you should just take a deep breath and take the chip off your shoulder. Science is wonderful.

I don’t think the sea level is rising at such an incredible rate. The measurements they are using are from Satalites that have a accuracy rating of 18 cm, and they are talking about 2 mm of change in sealevel. The science I have always practiced would not allow that measurement to be used in a paper, let alone dicatate an entire worlds policy. I think we are finding a bit of biased scientific research. It is amusing that the fix for it is a tax levied by an international organization.

That’s not “how humans started”. Actually, a magical wizard, who lives on a cloud, formed a lump of clay into a man, then blew on it to bring it to life. Then he created a rib-woman (instead of just forming another lump of clay into the form of a woman). They had children, who proceeded to have incestual sex to populate the world.

Surely you don’t think the universe created itself from nothing? And much as you would deride the Christian Faith, which is uniquely responsible for the modern world, by the way, you appear not to have ever given thought to how the progenitors of any new species begin to spread? (Incest is often a requirement, insofar as there is, by definition, no one else to breed with. Unless you think a bunch of identical mutations just happen to arise at the same time…which however is far less ludicrous as Stephen Hawking’s universe creating itself from nothing.) And it was slime, not clay. And He was not a magical wizard. The Muslim’s describe Him as saying to Moses, “you want to see my face?! Look at that mountain over there—I am going to show my face to it.” Moses looks at the mountain, which explodes, and he is knocked unconscious. When he awakens, he has a better sense of the majesty of God (He to Whom the gargantuan black holes at the center of galaxies, and all of creation, other than Satan and his ilk, bow).

Robert, in response to your first question, no, and don’t call me Surely (couldn’t resist that one).

Do you think God created himself from nothing? Or, if “God always was and always will be”, energy always was and always will be. The science of thermodynamics shows that energy cannot be created nor destroyed; it can only be changed in form (e.g. light to heat). There is much more evidence of this than of any mythological being.

As Einstein’s relativity (as well as nuclear reactions) has demonstrated, matter is composed of energy (basically, m = E/c^2, although it’s actually a bit more complicated in general relativity). I would put more trust in the credibility of Einstein and Hawking than in that of any preacher who tries to con people with something for which there is no eveidence.

As far as the Moses anecdote is concerned, the ancient Greeks had all kinds of similar anecdotes about Zeus. Does that make it true? Do you think Zeus is real? Everyone throughout history has thought that their particular god(s) is real and is the true one. One day people will look back on the mythology of today and see it as silly.
