Hey FFA, did your Producer get his confirmation of coverage yet? Is his doctor in network or does he have to go to Moline for treatment? By all means, let’s have a Blue Ribbon board investigate what went wrong. That should cost several million more and take a year to reach a conclusion. Is Sebelius going to investigate herself or CMS or just the vendors that screwed up? A billion dollars and counting. No problem, it taxpayer money, not the governments.

He did not get anything yet. I am not sure if he has to change docs. My wife has to change one. I wasn’t happy with his treatment anyways. His answer is more steroid shots. Has her scheduling monthly appointments for them. Three more yesterday for a total of 15 in the days 60 days… Did you ever have to deal with Roid Rage??? Becoming part of my normal life.

        What went wrong… what a joke…

            Hi Agent,

I hope that you wife finds relief in this method of pain treatment. I have a childhood friend who has the same situation going on with her back as well. She is pain 24/7 but she is going to try physical therapy and ultrasound now and if that doesn’t work as a last resort she’ll do the stimulator. I have watched my dear friend suffer for the past 5 years with this and I honestly do not know how she does it. I’m sure you feel the same way about your wife. I had read an article in a medical magazine a while ago that claimed the suicide rate for people in constant pain is very high. I was not a bit surprised to find that out given what they have to endure. Please let me know how this works for her and I wish her the best.

Hi Always. We hope so too. We have done everything from physical therapy to ultrasound to 5 surgeries to cortisone shots and even acupuncture so we have been there, done that. Yes, it is depressing and she has lived in doctors offices for the most part of the past 15 years. It is depressing for me also since I can’t get my wife back to any form of normalcy. We can’t travel more than 120 miles before she has some real problems and she has to stretch often on the highway. She does try to keep her chin up and I do too. Surely, there is an answer to this at some point.

FFA, my wife has had 5 back surgeries and has enough hardware in her to set off alarms at airports. She still has tremendous pain averaging 8-10 on the scale. Last week, the pain management doctor who had been giving her periodic steroid shots which don’t provide much relief recommended that she have a Spinal Electronic Stimulator installed. We read the book on it and viewed the DVD they gave her. Basically, it blocks the pain signals from the spine to the brain and thus provides relief. They say she can put it in as a test and if it works, she can have it installed permanently. We are going to check further on it. I will do anything to get her out of the pain she has been suffering for 15 years.

Thanks Always. We have been through it all and with each successive surgery, we had hope the condition would improve, but to no avail. She really can’t have any more surgeries because after the last one, she had a massive embalism that went to her lungs and our very talented vascular surgeon was able to remove it before it went to her heart and killed her. 17 days in the hospital, extensive treatment with blood thinners and about a year of semi recovery. She is still in as much pain as before so we may just try this stimulator since it is non invasive and simple to install. I am sure I will get some downthumbs on this post just because I am agent.

Those vascular doctors are angels on earth. Not only did my mom have one, but the cardiologist took her off the blood thinners so a pacemaker could be put in and she had another blood clot develop. So once again back in the OR for another vascular surgery. It’s amazing the technology that is out there these days and those vascular doctors really do save lives. I sincerely hope your wife will have her life back with the stimulator. 15 years – my goodness. That’s horrible.

Hey FFA, did you see the bulletin from Blue Cross on Understanding Affordable Care Act Fees? This law has so many fees and taxes it is a joke.
        1. Annual Fee on Health Insurers – An annual fee on the value of health insurance premiums that will be paid by Health Insurers on a pro rata basis. You can guess who will get stuck for these fees on their premiums.
        2. Transitional Reinsurance Program Contribution Fee – Isn’t that a fancy name? A temporary fee assessed on insureds and self funded plans, on a national per capita or per covered life basis. Supposedly helps fund temporary reinsurance programs under ACA in each state.
        3. Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute Trust Fund Fee – Another fancy name. The fee to help fund comparative clinical effectiveness research.

Of course the cost of these extras are built into the double whammy of rate increases that have been issued for 12-1 and 1-1 for the customers. The companies like Blue Cross will make sure the customer feels this in their premiums. The rep said it was all about Obamacare requirements. Hmm! The Affordable Care Act strikes again.

Hey FFA, I just got an email from Blue Cross. They have been having big issues from heavy call volume from the ACA mess. They are extended their call acceptance time to 8PM CT and put on another 500 employees to receive calls. They also had incorrectly canceled some policies which are being re-instated and changed the number to call instead of the Membership Services dept which has been close to impossible to get into. My customer had to wait around 4 hours to make a payment by phone and I guess they are recognizing they have a problem now. This is only going to get worse and I imagine all the various Blue Cross centers are having similar issues.

How about SD and ND with numbers only in the hundreds? Not a single state is near what is needed, it is drop in the bucket. Patti Cake, I think the adult up to age 26 crowd were accounted for by Obama. These are the professional students who stay in school on Mom & Dad’s dime because they can’t get a job and they like the benefits the parents provide. These people don’t think like we do when we were that age and are part of the gimmee, gimmee, gimmee crowd. When they are over 26, they figure out how to get more government assistance.

But this is unsustainable much like Social Security and Medicare are with $80 trillion in unfunded liabilities are. I know you far lefties think Social Security and Medicare are great successful programs because of the great benefits, but are too dumb to understand the basic economics of how they are unsustainable or don’t care at all about your kids who you are leaving bankrupt systems to. She had severe scoliosis (curvature of the spine)and the surgeries have straightened it some, but there was nerve damage and pain shoots up her back so she lives on pain pills, cortisone injections which only gives temporary relief. I think this Electronic Spine Stimulator shows some promise and we have read a lot of testimonials about it. If we can block the pain signals from the brain, it might not cure the condition, but it may reduce the pain some.

We have been dealing with her very bad back for many years and have had our hopes dashed after every surgery/procedure. She can’t have any more surgeries because she throws embalisms now and the last one almost killed her. The testimonials are looking promising, but it is not for everyone. She even has to get a Mental Health evaluation before it is done to make sure she can handle the control they will give her so she can monitor her pain level and not use it improperly. Modern technology and it is tricky.

NHguy, I am afraid we can blame not only the government, but the Health Insurance Industry as well since they bought into the scheme and they will be bailed out when it implodes. The problem they have is trying to restore policies they sent cancellations out on. When they recoup the policies, they all have substantial rate increases attached. I had a customer this happened to with Blue Cross who got one of these 1-1-14 increases and they said it was to pay the subsidy. Wow! What a Christmas present the customer got.

This is all a farce. The site can sign up all the millions it wants, but without a back end system, which has yet to be developed and tested, it’s just an exercise in futility. If they had problems with the implementation of the front end, just wait until they try to reconcile the back end where the money gets transferred.

You are right Paul. The back end is the payment mechanism and if payment is not received for insurance, no insurance will be there. A lot of these people will be surprised to find after the first of the year, they don’t have insurance when the doctor’s office says sorry, I can’t find you in the system. For this to work, a card must be issued and it has to be in the system and if premium is not there, it will show nothing.

I have been trying to enter in another ap today. Its been hit or miss on how far I get. She want to pay full annual by check.

So, shake the dice. Odds better in Vegas.

Lesbians can be creative when they get started. Transsexuals are the worst. They can’t figure out what they are. I have seen guys who grew up, got married, had kids and then in their 40’s decide to bat from the other side of the plate. I can’t imagine how the wife feels to lose her husband to a guy. Pretty sad and disgusting.

WTF Libby. You really aim to state that media does not support gay couple / lifestyles?

Now unlike Jack, I don’t care if someone is gay, however you want to state it doesn’t?

Comcast webpage description of on demand: “Your premier gay and lesbian entertainment center”

Comcast: Mindy Project commercial. Google it.
EA Games: Mass Effect, Dragon Age. Google it.

Glee. Watch it. Get back to me.
            Will & Grace
            Friends

            American Horror Story Season 2.
Criminal Minds, the episode about religious fanatics being forced to go through a program where they are all forced to be the same, then one goes insane and starts killing his gay partners. The whole thing was basically going over how gay people are so discriminated against by a powerful religion of people who are all exactly the same (bigotry) that they are killing people.

Or you know what, why don’t you just research an entire list.

            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LGBT_characters_in_television_and_radio

I do not tolerate someone who is so delusional they make up things as they go along.

The country is pro gay anti church. End of story.

Now you list to me any television shows that show it as being immoral. There are none.

No then, let’s go back to my criminal minds example and to the countless assaults on religions on tv. How many are there of those?

American Horror Story does it a lot. Insulting churches and the corruption is fairly common practice.

And that is what is sick. We have an anti church crowd now, and a force going on to dominate from the gay activist groups.

“What kind of television are you watching, Jack??? Mine doesn’t show the kind of shows you’re talking about. And who’s forcing churches to accept anything?? You are the sick and disgusting one here.”

‘Individuals Who Have Selected a Marketplace plan’ is Newspeak for “not very many”.

While Obummercare may be great for insurance companies, it is an absolute, no holds barred, disaster for Americans.

Everything points to the fact that things will get much worse for middle America – the ones that have to pay for Dear Leader’s fiasco.

If group plans follow the same path that individual plans have, this year will seem like a cakewalk for Obama and his lackeys.

Well FFA, Congrats to your Bears with Cutler back. I only saw a few highlights and it looked like he struggled, but came through with the help of his two big receivers and Forte. The lowly Cowgirls tried to help the Bears out in the standings against Green Bay, but managed to blow a 23 point halftime lead and lose with two late interceptions by the interception prone Romo. Lots of people need to be fired in that organization starting with the General Manager (Jones)for putting this team together, Garrett, the non head coach, Offensive Coordinator for play selection late in the game, Defensive Coordinator for playing soft in the second half. The only team in the NFL to blow a larger lead this year has been Libby’s favorite team against Brady and the Pats. This is a dysfunctional team and they keep doing the same thing over and over hoping for a different result, much like our government.

The unemployment is a direct result of 30+ years of Reaganomics which has also resulted in the greatest wealth gap in the history of the world. What we have in this country is a demand problem largely in part due to that ever growing gap. But, those that believe in Supply Side Jesus and Saint Reagan will never admit that. Even though some on Reagan’s own advisory board have admitted it. Time to roll back the Reagan tax cuts and his failing version of capitalism before we completely lose this country. Thanks alot, Raygun.

Not to worry 102, the administration is bringing in Podesta to save the day. He is head of the Center for American Progress, one of the most left wing organizations in the country. I am sure he will clean up the mess from Sebelius and CMS and all the website vendors still collecting on the taxpayer dime. By the way, Sebelius said yesterday they should have the payment thing on the backend fixed by mid January. Hmm! what will the people do that have expirations on 1-1? Have they followed through on anything to date?

Can’t say agent. I am the one who is calling for her to be let go. We agree for once!

The law is good, and if you speak to primary care doctors as well as most specialists, measures that are put into this bill (ACO’s, Certificate of Need enforcement, etc) will ultimately bring cost savings to the health care industry.

It would be useful to put someone who knows about health care in charge of HHS. Three suggestions of people who support the ACA and know something about health care: Howard Dean, John Kitzhaber and Bill Frist.

I bet the Republican party has disowned Frist for his support of the ACA. Between his profession as a transplant surgeon and his family’s longtime ownership of HCA, I think he knows a thing or two about health care delivery.

It is time to stop getting your thinking points from Rush Limbaugh and think for yourself agent!

The last time I checked, not one Republican voted for it in the House or Senate. You threw out Howard Dean, the screamer candidate who had to withdraw from running for President. I certainly hope they do. We want to see their selling points and compare them to reality.

Frist has been out of the Senate for five plus years. I never said he voted for the loa, but he was strongly supportive of it.
Yes, Dean won’t be President. But his medical knowledge (Albert Einstein Medical School graduate and board certified internist) combined with his 30+ years as a practicing doctor, make him someone who can provide insight on health care delivery.
Isn’t it ironic that Bill Frist and Howard Dean do not agree on many issues, but they both support the ACA!

Since she qualifies for medicaid, she can’t buy insurance with a subsidy. She doesn’t want medicaid. She would have to pay for her insurance and then request the tax break on the back end. Obviously, if she could afford insurance, she would already have it. So, she took the medicaid. *smh*

For those of you still supporting the President, following is a short list of lies he has told and many are just in the last year. It is impossible to post them all for 5 years.
1.If you like your plan, you can keep your plan, PERIOD!
2.If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor, PERIOD!
    3.Obamacare will reduce premiums.
4.The average family will save $2,500
5.Obamacare will not add one dime to the deficit.
6.The Private Sector is doing just fine.
    7.You didn’t build that!
8.Benghazi was caused by a Youtube video.
9.I didn’t set a Red Line on Syria.
10.This is the most transparent administration in history.
11.I never said “if you like your plan you can keep your plan”.
12.We will create shovel ready jobs.
13.I will cut the deficit in half in my first term.
    14.I will close Guantanamo Bay.
15.I didn’t know the IRS was targeting Conservative Groups.
16.I didn’t know about the NSA spying.
17.Bill Ayers was just a guy in the neighborhood.
18.I had no idea about the AP phone tapping.
19.Shopping for Health Insurance will be as easy as going on Amazon.com.

These are some of my favorites. I am sure Sargeant & FFA can remember some of the other gems uttered by this President.

He showed up an hour late for our appointment and we asked him if the other agent had bloodied him any. He laughed about it, but when we talked, he said the government was doing a number on the carriers with all these regulations, backing out the cancelled policies to reinstate, changing the enrollment deadlines and of course the customers are calling constantly jumping up and down. This is reaching critical mass now ready for a big explosion. Maybe it would die down some if Impeachment Proceedings were to begin in DC. Sorry to hear about your Group Rep. One never knows what is going on with another person. By the way, my customer who had the billing snafu had to wait over 4 hours to talk to someone about straightening out his bill. He would listen to music, be transferred and then get cut off and have to call back. He was not a happy camper. I said they must be getting very heavy call volume from equally dissatisfied customers. They may have to open new lines and hire more people to handle the volume.

Well if this isn’t a kick in the pants. Last week someone called me frustrated as all get out. I spent over 1.5 hours on the phone with her last night and then another 1.5 hours researching her doctors. Found the right network for her to have a minimal impact (she has 5 docts). Was only gonna have to change the kids doc.
Just a short time ago, she calls and says that she finally got through to the 800 number and got the ap completed with the subsidy on the front end. The she says she called her doc after the call and she was told that all of the docs are pulling out of the network when the pin head on the phone told her all docs are in network. Now, she has the ap in and wants to know what I can do for her. Well, I did everything I could do and then she went and did something else AFTER SHE ENGAGED ME FOR HELP.

Needless to say, she is not a fan of oBamas… The lie that getting her the worst is “you can keep your doctors”.

Me, just a waste of time when I could have been helping someone that’s going to let me do my job instead of calling an 800 number that calls who knows where….

So lets analyze this case – how good of a deal she is getting…
docs in Il charge at least $100 for records transfers x 5 doct = $500.00. This includes her Lady Parts Doctor, the specialist she sees and the kids doctors.
Next closest docs are at least 15 more miles away so add on the cost of the trip to the docs. She is at the docs once a month.
If she want to keep her docs, there are no out of network penalties listed. So, I can only assume there is no out of network coverage.
Nice job min wage pin head on the 800 number. Way to go Ofnbama! As she stated to me, its going to be devastating to her to have to switch the one specialist in particular. Good thing she picks up psych coverage, she going to need it.
And Agents are not to be trusted????
I am sure its all Bushes fault..

Doctors charge to transfer records? That’s rude. I haven’t changed doctors for years, so I have no idea how much (if anything) doctors here charge. It’s still rude. Wow. Even without the charge, this patient is getting a crap deal. Wrong on so many levels.

Can you just imagine how many millions of records will have to be transferred from doctor to doctor with the skinnied down networks? I don’t envy the doctors in this nonsense either. Patients they have treated for years are no longer theirs. Many may have to get into a different line of work. What else can they do, but practice medicine. Maybe Obama will set them up in a free clinic and they can get their Medicaid pittance for treating patients.

So Sargeant, I just saw the latest ABC/Washington Post poll on Obama’s approval ratings. He is now the proud owner of his lowest rating at 43% approval, 55% disapproval. I think the air has gone out of the balloon, don’t you? On every major category of how to judge a President’s job performance, he is plummeting. Obviously, the disaster of Obamacare is leading the pack, but just about everything else he does and touches brings it down. I wonder how low it would be if he didn’t have the complicit media to prop him up. GW’s approval was bad when the media was piling on at every opportunity. The article also mentioned that this was the worst approval by a second term President since Nixon and he was in the middle of Watergate and the media was calling for his head 24/7.

Yes, Detroit is continue to empty out. 40 plus years of thievery, corruption, incompetence and just plain indifference to the citizens who lived there and paid the bills was to much. They have finally put the last mayor in prison for the next 28 years, a Democrat, John Conyers (D) Detroit wife Monica was sent to prison for taking bribes etc, etc. They now have a new Mayor and a new city council thanks to the new Emergency manager appointed by the Governor. I think it will get better, it already is. That said people will not move back into the city unless they broom out the thugs, reduce crime, vastly improve the city school system and improve city services. Right now they don’t have the tax base and people to do that.

Before the game, the commentators were all saying that the Lions had the awesome offense and defense and would hand the Ravens their head. Someone forgot to tell the Ravens. Three interceptions will generally do the trick to lose a game. Perhaps your quarterback had been studying too much Romo. Some of those interceptions were pretty ugly. Perhaps they will recover and still make the playoffs. It is extremely unlikely the Cowboys will. Jerry Jones, Jason Garrett & Romo are under big heat in Dallas.

FFA, I went on the Cowboys website and boy were the fans letting Jones, Garrett and Romo have it. By the way, Romo changed the play on the last pass that was intercepted. They told him to run the ball and he disobeyed, killed the play and then threw the ball right into the hands of the DB. He has done that repeatedly. I have listened to him bark out the plays for a long time and when he says kill, kill, kill and changes the play at the line of scrimmage, you can bet it will be a negative play. Quarterbacks are supposed to be the smartest players on the field, but Romo takes the cake and is goofy as a liberal on this blog.

We have a little experience with Princeton graduates since the President’s current economic advisor is one as well and designed the Cash for Clunkers program which cost the taxpayers upwards of $20 billion. Garrett is also a yes man with Jones which is what he likes. The last real coach was Jimmy Johnson who was not a yes man, knew how to coach, how to draft and sign players and rewarded Jones with 2 Super Bowl rings. Aikman, Smith & Irvin were the triplets and they delivered. Eventually, the relationship went south and Johnson said bye bye Jerry. He seems to be happy being on TV and not having to deal with the Narcissist ego maniac owner who thinks he knows football.

I take them about as seriously as you took Dubya’s continuous lies about Iraq, Agent:

President George W. Bush and seven of his administration’s top officials, including Vice President Dick Cheney, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, made at least 935 false statements in the two years following September 11, 2001, about the national security threat posed by Saddam Hussein’s Iraq. Nearly five years after the U.S. invasion of Iraq, an exhaustive examination of the record shows that the statements were part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretenses.

On at least 532 separate occasions (in speeches, briefings, interviews, testimony, and the like), Bush and these three key officials, along with Secretary of State Colin Powell, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, and White House press secretaries Ari Fleischer and Scott McClellan, stated unequivocally that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction (or was trying to produce or obtain them), links to Al Qaeda, or both. This concerted effort was the underpinning of the Bush administration’s case for war.

It is now beyond dispute that Iraq did not possess any weapons of mass destruction or have meaningful ties to Al Qaeda. This was the conclusion of numerous bipartisan government investigations, including those by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (2004 and 2006), the 9/11 Commission, and the multinational Iraq Survey Group, whose “Duelfer Report” established that Saddam Hussein had terminated Iraq’s nuclear program in 1991 and made little effort to restart it.

In short, the Bush administration led the nation to war on the basis of erroneous information that it methodically propagated and that culminated in military action against Iraq on March 19, 2003. Not surprisingly, the officials with the most opportunities to make speeches, grant media interviews, and otherwise frame the public debate also made the most false statements, according to this first-ever analysis of the entire body of prewar rhetoric.

President Bush, for example, made 232 false statements about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and another 28 false statements about Iraq’s links to Al Qaeda. Secretary of State Powell had the second-highest total in the two-year period, with 244 false statements about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and 10 about Iraq’s links to Al Qaeda. Rumsfeld and Fleischer each made 109 false statements, followed by Wolfowitz (with 85), Rice (with 56), Cheney (with 48), and McClellan (with 14).

At least Obama’s lies did not result in an unnecessary war and thousands of lives lost.

Are you disputing every Intelligence Agency of the free world coming to the same conclusion and joining the coalition to go after Saddam since he used WMD’s on his own people and also against Iran in their bloody war? By the way, your President declared that Afghanistan was the right war for the right reasons. Why is he still in there using drones to kill many innocents as collateral damage? FFA. Bryant is a gifted receiver and a tough competitor. He did have a number of catches and 153 yards receiving, mostly in the first half when they were actually playing football. He also has the maturity of a 12 year old and has anger management issues. They have to grab him every time he comes off the field when the play breaks down, a negative play like an interception or the team has to punt. He would argue with the person manning the Gatorade cups. He was really ticked about that last play and said he didn’t want fans to see him cry while Green Bay kneeled down to run out the clock. I understand the young man wants to win and he is stuck on a team of losers. He just has a tough time handling it.

Sargeant, the announcers said Stafford was guaranteed $94 million on his contract. Do you think he is worth that kind of money? Jones signed Romo to a $108 million contract extension, but only $55 million is guaranteed. It seems both of these quarterbacks aren’t providing much bang for the bucks. They also said more points were scored last weekend than in many years, so defenses seem to be the thing of the past. The NFL stands for “Not For Long” and appears to be true. The game seems to be like picking a horse in a race. It is wise to bet on the jockey, not the horse.

I heard someone say the “hit zone” for a defender to hit a ball carrier has shrunk to a point where it is becoming a challenge to not draw a flag much less a fine. As a result you have more going for the pick instead of getting into position for a tackle.

Playing the ball instead of the player is leading to more long distance strikes. Gruden was talking about all the blown calls. There was a obvious blown “non” call in the Detroit where the DB had the receivers arm so he could not reach for the ball. That blown call could have blown the game for the Lions…

Sargeant, the good news is that you have the Cy Young winner, the Most Valuable Player and now one of the premier relievers of the past 10 years. I hope your Tigers get over the hump next time unless the Rangers do.

The lowly Cowboys had a chance to control their destiny and fell flat on their face. What a bunch of losers from ownership all the way down to the players on the field.
