“The course of 2014 will show whether Obama can get affordable care to millions of people in need, without doing intolerable damage to the 85 percent of U.S. residents who already were insured.” And that is how the cookie crumbles.

Rates/Premiums have already increased 25% in the last 6 months. And that is not counting the increase in premium since the companies found out that they would have to include 10 essential health benefits and Maternity onto their already comprehensive policies.
yeah the rates going to continue to increase as the unhealthy continue to sign up for healthcare and the healthy continue paying their small $95 or 1% of annual income TAX.

    Sickening.

Hey Agent B. Let’s not forget all the taxes and fees that are going on the premiums because of the “Affordable Care Act”.

The intolerable damage is to the healthcare system. No one will be able to afford the premiums, deductibles or co-pays.

This article asserts that many will benefit but fails to reference those who will be hurt: workers busted to part-time because their employer cannot afford a 25-30% hike in benefit costs; the millions who had insurance but who were cancelled in 2013 because their current plans were not deemed rich enough by the government; young people who will bear the brunt of the premium shift from older to younger; the 50th worker who will not be hired because the employer cannot afford to offer health care and stay in business; and of course the taxpayers who will be paying for some of the premiums (up to 400% of the Federal Poverty Line) in the exchanges in an prime example of wealth redistribution. Bottom line is that many will benefit but many will not.

Like any other Democrat program or idea they had to lie to the American public to get it pushed through. Funny no mention of how Pelosi, Reed, and yes Obama lied about being able to keep your health plan, keep your doctor, and oh yeah, about it being more affordable for all. Single payer system is the goal for the Dems, how many they hurt getting there is of no concern.

Back in the day, serial lying to the American People was an Impeachable offense. Prime examples are Tricky Dicky and Clinton. The plethora of lies this man and his minions have told on this dastardly legislation would be enough to impeach 10 Presidents.

Agent – I know how much you like to re-write history, but I’m calling you on this one. This is about the third time you’ve mentioned Nixon, lying, and impeachment in the same sentence. Nixon was NOT impeached for lying. He was impeached for COMMITTING A CRIME. (i.e. breaking and entering and burglary.)

Actually, Libby and Agent, President Nixon was never impeached. He resigned.

Thanks, Ron. You’re absolutely right. If he were to be impeached (which I’m pretty sure he was) it was because he committed a crime. Not because he lied.

Come on Libby. By now you have got to see that this guy is no good. He needs to go for what ever reason we can get him out. If he was committed to the good of the over all country, he would resign. Biden can not be as bad as this guy. If he is, God help us all.

The issue isn’t about whether I think he’s a good guy or not. It’s about whether or not he’s committed an impeachable offense. Agent can’t compare him to Nixon since it’s apples and oranges.

The damage he has done to the country should be enough. Pure Incompetence. Pure Arrogance. Peter principle proven true at the highest level.

          FFA,

What quantifiable damage has he done? Yes, he has made more mistakes than I would like to see (Benghazi, lack of transparency, handling of Syria, not com promising more with Congress, lying about the effects of the PPACA, etc.

However, most economic indicators have improved since he was elected. Government spending is decreasing, the annual deficit has been dcreasing each year, the budget to GDP has been decreasing, GDP to debt is increasing, inflation has been kept in check, stock market is at an all-time high helping retirement accounts, even gas prices are down ~$.22 per gallon since he was re-elected and never hit the all-time high in June of 2008. The only significant economic indicator that has gotten worse is the labor participation rate. Part of that could be attributed to the increase in productivity of labor, which has improved the stock market, but allowed companies to avoid hiring/re-hiring people.

I encourage you to go to this website for other data. If you have a better source for economic data, please provide.

I am not asking anyone to like or even respect the man, but at least be honest and use facts to back up your statements.

I really do not care whether or not he gets impeached. My life is not dictated by who is the President, but by my own work ethic, experience and education. I have been successful and improved my lifestyle under every President since President Reagan.

    Ron, Health Care.

Go hang out on Main St USA and ask 100 people what they think of Health Care. Ask 100 Doctors. PPPCA needs to go. He is messing with the health of people.

      FFA,

As much as I do not like the law, it has yet to be determined if it will cause enough damage to destroy the country or the economy.

Any thoughts on the improvements of the economic indicators? That also has an impact on Main St USA.

The economic indicator in IL is depressing. Now the knuckleheads in Springfield want to increase Min Wage. That happened back in 2009 and there has been a steady flow of job out of state since. A hundred here, a few hundred there and now State Farms pulling out. That’s a major hit coming these morons cant see.

2008, I never made more money then in any other year. 2013, I’ll be lucky to bring home half that amount.

As far as destroying the economy, have you not paid attention to all the business cutting full time hours down to under 25?

Since 2008, my union electrician brother is laid off from Oct through April. He is not the only union guy in this spot. Another one of my brothers (union) has been unemployed for two years. His Unemployment ran out 12/31/2013. There is an improvement in the Unemployed rate – kick them off the system so they don’t get counted. Another agent friend of mine is already estimating his income to be down at least $1000 a month. The GA I work with is also in trouble. He used to have over 50 very competent and very well compensated employees. Now – NOT.

The Indicators I pay attention to – the average Joe trying to make ends meet. Keeps just getting kicked from all levels of govt.

Just cause the train has not crashed yet, don’t mean its not going to.

          FFA,

I am truly sorry to hear of your troubles and others in IL. However, President Obama is not the Govwernor of IL. His responsibility is the Country as a whole.

Can you cite a source showing how many businesses have cut full time hours down to 25? I have seen some anecdotal evidence, but not any real numbers. Please do not be like Agent and tell me to open my eyes and use my brain and common sense. I am an analytical person who needs numbers to be swayed, not emotions.

When the train does crash, then I will change my mind. Until then, it is only speculation.

There is a town In Iowa. A College in PA as reported by IJ. Home Depot (sorry, my client that works at home depot told me this). Golden Corral (my Daughter from her employee meeting in December). Walgreens as reported all over the news. Oh no wait, they dropped their employer sponsored plan all together. I dropped mine. My producer had to rewrite another group to individual.

These anecdotal – emotional stories are being told all over main st and in industrial complexes all over the USA.

As far as one source, I don’t know of any out there. Your research abilities run circles around mine… Not my strong suit. Type A. Not enough patients.

Sorry to inform you of this, but he has brought Ill Politics to the White House. Its obvious to us folks in IL. Its like history repeating it self but on a national level. Top man just don’t give a damn about anyone but his own ego much less average joe.
